Our A/C started to act up over the summer. The compressor would try starting for a few seconds, and stop. Repeated several times until it finally turned on a few minutes later. I was considering hiring someone to fix it as I knew nothing about A/C's, but I am very much a DIY kind of person, so I did some research and found out the capacitor needed replacing. I purchased this, and I was able to replace it very easily. When turning the A/C back on, the compressor immediately came on, and it sounded like I gave it more life, too. It ended up being a quick, easy, and cheap fix.

Price was nice, it was a simple swap, fit great and worked no problem. It’s been installed for about 2 weeks or so in the middle of the East coast heat waves and so far so good.

I came home from work to discover my AC unit was not working and the capacitor had been worn and needed a replacement. I had just discovered that capacitor replacement is a common problem for HVAC- so I ordered this unit and it came within hours of submitting the order. I just now replaced this unit in my outside unit and the unit is working as good as new! Thank you so much!

Worked like a charm. My neighbor is an AC tech and has replaced this a few times since we got the whole AC system replaced 12 years ago. They don’t last as long they used to because they’re not filled with nasty PCB’s anymore. My outside unit kept on randomly freezing up because this thing was starting to fail. I’m taking away one star because it not the exact same size as the OEM capacitor so I had to jury rig it in there with zip ties. The outside diameter is way bigger, but it’s a match as far as the specifications for my Carrier MDL 25HPA530A0031010 HEAT PUMP.Not sure why there’s a rating for durability here since only time will tell if it’s gonna last.

Great price and came the very next day! Plugged right in and seems to work perfectly. I was able to save hundreds of dollars by fixing my AC by myself rather that hiring an HVAC repair guy. I installed a little over a week ago and it's still working perfectly.

It works. Went outside, fan wasn't spinning on the condenser unit and it was making a bit of a humming noise. I don't think you always get the noise, but once you do all the simple troubleshooting, I'd look here next. If the capacitor looks swollen or corroded--its probably bad. You can test it to verify, lots of videos online that can show you how (wordofadvicetv). Be careful if you do this work because it is dangerous if you don't follow basic safety precautions (again watch the videos).Anyhow, I got it from Amazon in 24 hours, and swapped it out in 15 mins. Much faster than calling a HVAC tech and at least $200 cheaper (assuming your HVAC guy is honest and doesn't just tell you your compressor is broken--then quote you $2000). I bought two just to have one on hand. I have no idea of the longevity of the product. I've got a spare now and if they don't last I'll update this post and let you know if I figured out if there is a more reliable version.
