Good guide to Canadian French grammar
This book fills a gap, especially in terms of Canadian French grammar. The pronunciation guide for the example sentences isn’t the greatest though. He has a website that has recordings of a small part of the book. A lot of the book is lists of expressions and words. I do find things listed though that I also hear on radio from Québec. This is a pretty unique guide and well worth the money. I do think that he could have proofread a little better and maybe used a native English speaker to double check the translations. The word “lutter” for example is translated as “to car something with a car”, which makes absolutely no sense.

Very Helpful
I like Quebec, but the only French we are taught in the US is Metro (France) French. There are some differences. The accent will be tough, but this is helpful for those that visit Quebec and have some ability in French. This is probably not for beginners. It doesn't teach the language, it teaches the difference between Metro and Quebecois. Be aware of that fact.

Interesting & educational!
Easy to read, easy to navigate. I appreciate the author's annotations of colloquialisms and historical tidbits behind the many expressions therein. A great go-to guide to bridge Canadian French and textbook French.

Easy to read. Using the words in common sentences
The book emphasizes a lot of what I knew from growing up Canadian French. Always great to learn new words I haven’t seen I like the phonetic teaching

Missleading
Not for the beginner. You are required to speak French to switch to Canadian French. I don't think a French speaking person would appreciate this book. There wouldn't be enough difference in pronunciation to warrant buying this book. Poorly made. A page ripped out when I opened the book. Others were coming loose from the binder.

Brilliant introduction to French Canada and the Québécois world
This is a must for anyone wanting to learn the Québécois language. The historical/cultural introduction, verb tables and vocabulary and useful phrases throughout are very interesting and useful as the language is in its own league compared to metropolitan French. Also overall the book is very well divided and a joy to learn with. I’d definitely recommend for any francophone speakers wanting to discover a new part of the world where French is spoken that a lot of people tend to gloss over

Very useful for learning some of the main differences between French and Canadian French. I wouldn't recommend for a total beginner as some basic knowledge of French is needed.

This is more 'Acadian' French than 'Canadian' French.
If your goal is to learn proper Canadian French this is not the title you need. The slang-ridden street French, full of 'anglicismes' is put forward as 'Canadian' French and then contrasted to the 'proper' French that is apparently spoken in France. I grew up among Acadians. The educated among them, who care about their native language, would probably find this book a bit offensive. Some of the contractions of the article " le " don't even make sense.
