It works
Batteries not included. I hooked mine up to some spent plutonium rods that I got from some Libyans. I don't recommend using plutonium. If you do, make sure and take extra. I only had the one and had to hook it up to a lightning rod to get it to work again.

Cool concept, but....
This is a review for the YAHTZEE: Back to the Future Collector's Edition Board Game. I was super excited to order and get this game. I did see one out in the stores once, but the price was really high. Amazon had a better price and I couldn’t refuse. I am a huge Yahtzee fan (playing the original game and also electronic on the Nintendo Wii and DS). Once I got it however, I was a bit disappointed on how the flux capacitor opens from the back and not the top. It makes it quite awkward to use it to shake the dice in (since you have to hold it sideways and either shake side to side or place the back on to shake the dies), so we didn't use it to play the game. Probably would not have purchased it I thought the shaker would not be used. It is a cool concept though, with being a great collector piece for any BTTF movie fans, and it is cool that it lights up, it’s just not as player friendly as I hoped. We will just play the usual way (without shaker) and leave the flux capacitor sitting on the table and lighting up the game.

Power of Love for sure
This is a very cool set of Yahtzee for any lover of the 80's. The dice with their little warning for radiation as the 1's side is a really nice touch. The box with the flux capacitor on the front is awesome and lights up whenever you move it, so using it at the cup to roll the dice in is slick. On the downside, the box is difficult to open, there isn't a slot for you to get your fingernail in very easy and the first time you do it you are not positive that you won't break it (it does come off easy so you won't likely, but it had me worried a moment the first time. Inside the box is the hatch where the batteries go, 3 AAA's, and that is easy to get to and load up. The on and off switch is on the inside of the box as well and I'm not sure I like it there, nice thing is that even when in the On position, the lights only blink when you move it so you can leave it on the shelf in the on position though I don't know how fast they will drain, I expect it to be slow. Being boxed shape the "cup" as it is to be used like is more like rolling dice in a bit to shallow shoe box, not as nice as a cup, but still cool.

Very cool little replica
Very cool little replica I’m putting this on the shelf with my three back to the future cars and the mini mr.fusion phone charger I don’t think anybody that buys this item is going to use it for Yahtzee. Can’t really complain for 15 bucks I like anything back to the future It has the stickers on it there not 3-D stickers The letters don’t Protrude off of the stickers like original they don’t pop out but it’s definitely still cool lights up when you touch it you have to move it for the light up it won’t stay on which is cool definitely cool little collectible to put on the shelf

Best Yahtzee Game Ever!
Love it!!!! Flux Capacitor is awesome! If I had any complaint it would be that the score cards are a 1/4 the size of the original game, but this is not the original game at all. So much better! I never got the impression the flux capacitor would be the 'cup' for shaking the dice. I read other reviews about the box not working for shaking the dice. I've always shook them by hand so no big deal for me, hated the cup. Lol. The Flux Capacitor itself has a tilt switch sensitive enough to that if you just leave the box on your table while playing, the movement of rolling dice and such will set off the LED's and make it light up. AWESOME GAME!!!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!

Don't buy it for the game, BUY IT FOR A PROP
Let's just say the flux capacitor has NO relation to the game. The flux capacitor is really just a cool prop to have to lay around the house. It lights up when you shake it, which in theory utilizes the Yahtzee idea, but there's no good way to deal with having the dice in the flux capacitor. The back opens up to reveal where you put the batteries and an on/off switch; however, it doesn't look like it's where the dice go. If you put the dice in, it's a lot louder than any other Yahtzee cup and doesn't shake them around well. The dice that come included are cool and have a nuclear symbol on them along with a yellow paint job. You can easily tell which dice are from Back to the Future, but it doesn't really fit the Back to the Future theme. Sure, plutonium is how you get the 1.21 gigawatts to go back in time, but they could've been a better design; maybe silver and black to look like a DeLorean? It's still sweet to have but it it's not the Yahtzee I recommend. Maybe you're better just getting the regular Yahtzee.

Very cool movie prop for a Back To The Future fan...Not a Yahzee player...
I bought this for the prop alone. Don't care about the game and left the dice in the box. Requires two AAA batteries, which are not included. This will make a nice audition on my shelf of movie props and worth the cheap price considering it's $30 in every store I've seen it in.

It's pretty cool
If you have a home theater and want a conversation starter this is it. It lights up when moved if you wish it too. It stores the dice, pencil and Yahtzee score sheets also. Trying to find anything flux capacitor related is not easy. Get this while you can.
