Fantastic cargo box, weatherproof, no wind whistle, great size
Very happy with this cargo box. It is the perfect size to fill with camping chairs, a mosquito net/house pop-up, and several other camping related items. On its maiden voyage, it was truly tested by a torrential downpour - not a single drop of water got in (the car was parked but i would guess this would hold true for raining under way). It was easy to install by myself (I am a smaller woman and could still get it onto my tall Toyota Highlander roof racks by myself). I had previously tried a cheaper brand (that I returned), and this was definitely sturdier and less flimsy. I also don't notice any wind noise when under way - and I would guesstimate that any effect on gas mileage is negligible. Anyways - that's a long review but those were all the things I was looking for in a cargo box!

Great Product, works well & more space!
Great product.Everything stays dry and secure.Lock works fine w/keys & feel safeLight weight & easy to put on and off.Improved attachment system is much easier & faster than old Thule system.Allowed me to take dogs on a road trip because I could put so many bags on top of my 4Runner.Fits perfect on a 4 Runner with the stock laundry tub roof rack. Sunroof still works.Only issue is it covers the XM radio antenna but that’s any of these boxes.Gas mileage went down on windy days. Stays same as normal behind Semi trucks

Great midrange rooftop cargo box for road trips or outdoor enthusiasts
This Thule Pulse M might be low key but it's amazing for short and long distance road trips. My wife and I bought this for our 7 day, +1000 mile road trip from California to Utah and it worked flawlessly when paired with our 2018 Subaru Forester. We were able to bring more than enough supplies for our us and our 16 month old. Some things we stored in the Thule were duffles, portable toilet, several pairs of hiking boots, blankets, trekking poles, and a baby carrier. Much of our supplies were stored in the Thule,as such it freed up much needed leg room and made the long distance trip more comfortable. I do enjoy the size of the Pulse M because it's not overly large but at the same time it's easy to mount / dismount by myself. This is a huge plus as other roof top cargo boxes might be challenging to moint/dismount due to weight or size. The interior is no frills but has a basic tie down points and claw that mounts to your roof bars. The container itself is very well weather sealed. On the drive back from Utah, we drove thru both rain and dust storm. When I arrived home, contents in the Thule were dry with little to no dust. Awesome! My only criticisms are the opening and closing. I wish Thule had a roof box this size and be able to open the roof box from either side. Currently the Thule pulse may only be opened from the passenger side. When driving with the roof box, it was very quiet even at highway speeds (+70 mph). At times I even forgot it was there. As with any roof box, expect a reduction in fuel economy of about 15-20%.Overall great product for road trips and I would recommend this for anyone who has a growing family.

Its a good unit, a little on the expensive side. Not sure its worth $599 but it did well.
I purchased this "used like new" for $474. I had previously missed out on the deal for $398 and I am still angry at myself for not purchasing the cart. I wouldn't pay $599 new for it. People all over the country buy these and use them one time, like myselfSo the goodI like that it opens from the side. My buddies opens from the back and its a huge hassle. Can't reach anything. As you can see, I used a step to get it mounted, and we traveled with a small folding step stool to make it easier to pack the top.Because it has hinges down one side, and latches down the other, its more sturdy. The lock is in the center, but the latch side actually latches in three places. I liked this. Solid. The mounting system was very easy to use. There isn't a lot of parts. It will grab any oval / wing / square within its size capabilities. You shouldn't have any issues with that.It did the job well. I think I fit more items inside the cargo top than I could in our trunk. It really is the perfect size for a CX5.The bad (well, its not really that bad)When its empty, its pretty floppy and it rattles a lot. This is really thin plastic so it doesn't weigh a lot, but it also doesn't have much structure. When its full, its more rigid and there's no rattling or noise. So that's good. The only added noise was a little bit of wind noise when the sunroof shade is open. There's no weather strip or seal around it. There's about 2-3" of plastic that overhangs a lip. This doesn't seem to affect it too negatively, in the rain. There's plenty of free play so I might add some.So here's the bad bad - Its not completely water proof. The water seems to come in from the slot system in the bottom. Even in a light rain we got a little water inside. We had to drive home through tropical storm Ophelia. It was crazy. So we first put a couple towels down in the bottom of the cargo box. Then we bagged anything that went inside in black trash bags. I fit the stroller, a travel suit case, the bouncer, 2 diaper bags, 2 bags of toys, youth life jackets, youth "chair in a bag" and some beach accessories on the way home. It fits a lot. Our system worked good; the towels were pretty wet but everything else was relatively dry.In all, I would recommend this unit. Just don't pay $599 for it. Its a giant thing of plastic. It is significantly better than the ones my friends have. IDK why there's no weather stripping whatsoever. And it does get a little water in the bottom so be prepared for that. But it does add a huge, huge amount of space to the CX5. Like, I don't know how we'd even make the trip without it!If you like my writeup click helpful =)
