If you have torn your home button cable, like I did, when opening up your iPhone for a screen replacement, then this is what you need. That's a poor design decision on Apple's part, but it's not E-Repair's fault. And I will re-iterate what others of said; the TouchID will no longer work if you change out the home button. Again, that's Apple's design decision for security reasons and not the fault of the button vendor. True of any home button replacement. If you use TouchID and want to keep using it, then you must get Apple to replace your home button. Only they can program in matching crypto codes for the button and the main board. However, if you don't care about the TouchID, this is a great replacement.

I purchased 2 of these after breaking the cables on a couple of iPhone 5s’s when I was replacing their batteries. They both came intact and installed easily enough. After I did the first phone, I tested it and the button was not particularly responsive, so I opened the phone back up and realized that I had put the metal cover that goes over the button on upside down. I got it put back on the right way and now the home button works great. It’s nice having a home button again. The finger print part doesn’t work, but that was expected, as Apple designed the phones that way.

I didn't have any installation problems. I think one must just know how to install these. You have to torque the screws it to the correct amount. Not too tight because when you put it back together it will get tighter. So keep it a little loose and put it back together. I got a normal click out of it. It doesn't feel mushy or anything either.

Worked fine, even though it didn't fix my issue. The sticky backing is a pain in the butt to put on, but this my first one so perhaps with some experience that will get easier. If this is your first one, be careful on that part - as it changes the way the home button feels when you push it if this isn't correct. It also didn't come with a screw and "mount" to screw it into the screen plate. But it works fine without this so it's still good.Great product though and it worked fine.

Good replacement button. It works great. Did I have issues with the replacement bracket that came with it though. It kept letting the button shift around when you tried to use it. I had to reuse the original bracket to hold it correctly. This is the only reason I am not giving it 5 stars.

Everything worked except the metal that support the button. It’s doesn’t have a round bump in the middle. What bump does it makes the button click easier. I had to use the one that came with the phone.

The piece is a cheap reproduction of the real thing, only this one doesn't snap in place because it is completely flat with no indents. If you have never tried this repair, it is a very small piece that should snap in place, like a lego piece. I have done it before, while replacing my phone's screen (this piece needs to come off to replace screen) with the original/workable piece, so I know how to do it. This is just a cheap knock-off. Think twice before you buy because "it's only $6". The time and effort that goes into replacing this piece is not worth the $6. BELEIVE ME. The more your dismantle and handle this part of your phone, the more likely it is something else will get torn/broken.

It's not bad. Worse than original but the difference is unnoticeable unless you look for it. So far has worked for a few months.
