Small, Easy to Carry, Clarity of Pictures, Optical Zoom Not full 25x digital Zoom works
I always put negatives first. 1. The clarity of this camera at 25x is not as clear as you would expect. 3. It does have the usual lag time after taking a picture, (not just for this Elph Powershots but common to the point and shoots. So here are the positives. 1.This camera has detail up to about 20 that is amazing. 2. If you shoot in Program, you can not only adjust your ISO for what you really want low light bright, on a little tri-pod to avoid shakes, but MOST particularly and I just discovered this about 4 weeks ago, you can control your color. I have my new setting on "My Colors--Positive Film". Since I always loved my SLR film cameras for the accuracy of color, now I get very close to that with this setting. 3. You can get clarity of shots, particularly with outdoor shots quickly. The focus fixer is fast and the HD is really an HD. It keeps the focus as the person moves towards you or away from you...or the bird or the fish, or the dog. 4. I have been astounded at the battery life. I have had the camera, probably shot 400 pictures and 15-20 movies and have only recharged the battery once. 5. I love how easy it is to use. It fits easily in your hand and the back side view is big. That is helpful for old eyes but also for anyone who is trying to frame their photo. I usually prefer looking through a viewfinder and always do so with my bigger powershot, and my DSLR's, but sometimes you just want to quick flick out a decent picture. I LOVE this camera. 6. Indoor pictures are really good as well. Use the Program option and heighten the ISO to 400 higher may be grainy although I have not found that to be too bad, and if you need the flash, this little flash close up, (indoors) does the trick. Outdoors, the flash also helps to brighten dark faces, and to bring out some colors you want especially in shaded areas. Don't try it with any major zoom or you will not get the benefit of the flash. So, over all, I love the camera. I will edit this review over time if something happens, but I am using it at the beach (tough for the camera with sand and just the salty air) and in the mountains where there is a lot of fog and rain. It isn't water proof but a baggy helps. I want to add a picture that I took with in Tanzania of a Frangi Pani at digital zoom about middle (not sure) .Canon. Thanks.

Best camera I've ever owned!!!
We were looking for something for summer adventures - light, easy to use, built in wifi. I hoped for some non-blurry photos without a lot of fuss.Good heavens...this little guy is AMAZING!! It's about the dimensions of my iPhone only about twice as thick. A bit heavier that the iPhone. Easily fits in my jeans pocket.Holds a charge and takes great video. Wifi was easy once I watched a You Tube video for the initial setup. I can send photos to my phone, then email/upload them to the Internet when I have wifi available for the phone to get online. The best part? There's a special effects setting. It takes 6 photos. Your original. Then a black and white, a halo effect, a close-up of a detail in the photo (randomly selected), a few other effects - it's absolutely genius. Feel like I have a super creative photo editor on hand!Love this camera....posted photos taken on the first day of use on Facebook and they got tons of compliments, and one suggestion that I could use these photos to make & sell greeting cards. I'm not kidding!Cannot recommend this camera enough...wish I'd had it years ago!

Great camera but unnecessarily complicated...
Overall this is a quality camera at a relatively low price but the interface leaves a lot to be desired and setting up for wireless network is the complete opposite of intuitive. Before I forget if you intend to setup this camera to connect to your computer over WiFi without having to send a copy of every photo to Canon you are going to want to watch the YouTube video titled "Canon PowerShot SX620 HS - Wireless Connection with a Windows Device" by Canon. I have been an electrical engineer for 18 years and a computer/photography nerd for 10 plus years on top of that and there is no way I ever would have guessed the instructions to setup this camera without that video.WiFi aside the camera has lots of great features though most people are only interested in a few and probably just full auto mode for point and shoot, which is fine- but even basic functions such as setting a timer or attempting to force a flash are hidden or just not possible, and there is no good reason why. Digital Cameras of 10 years ago had mostly the same features but better interfaces in general. I'll take a mechanical knob to set the camera mode I can instantly see and quickly change over buried menus and sub-menus any day.The optical zoom is downright amazing. The optical image stabilization leaves a little to be desired. Overall this isn't a bad camera, it's a good one, perhaps very good, but there is noticeable room for improvement. I had hoped for more.Yes this camera has an automatic plastic lens cover that closes when the camera is powered off or not in camera mode. It may seem weird but I wasn't sure when i purchased it as the cover was open in every picture of the camera I could find.Photo is at max or near max optical zoom about 20 feet away, just a quick shot, auto mode, no tripod, relatively dim indoor lighting. With my eyes and 20/20 vision I can easily read the numbers around the clock but couldn't in a hundred years see the text "Quartz / Westminster Chime" and never in a billion years see the small text at the very bottom of the clock face.

Best Digital Camera
This camera helps me take my exterior photos without having to get too close to the subject in the photo.
