They Work!
I burned up a cable modem and a router from a recent hurricane. I already had a good surge protector/battery backup. My brother mentioned these to me. They are like fuses. It installs right before the modem. The wrench size is different than the cables, but I had an adjustable wrench so no issues. A couple of weeks ago we had another tropical storm come through, and I though I lost another modem, but it was only this arrester. I swapped it for a new one and voila, back in business. This order comes with 3. So when I am down to one I will reorder. This is cheap protection. I didn't think that I had to worry about cable/internet surges, but I do now. This and a good surge protector are cheap insurance for an expensive TV, router, and modem.

Surge Protector for Cable Amplifier
Easy to install and compact. Better than having a power strip up in the attic. So far it’s worked great.

No complaints so far, but haven't yet been tested
My mom lives in the lightning capital of the world: Florida. She's had an _extremely_ close call already. In fact, a strike in 2023 took out her A/C thermostat on the wall. I got these to protect her TVs and her BF's since they both use external off-air antennas. We put these in line early in 2024, and so far, so good. No hits yet to test their reliability, but I will update this review if and when necessary. Incidentally, I installed an air terminal and surge supressor to address potential issues to the A/C and other appliances.Very Best Regards,Tom Scott 🗽Speaker ● World's Leading Expert on the Corrupt U.S. Legal System ● Author of:Our American Injustice SystemStack the Legal Odds in Your Favor

Lacks Grounding Lugs
These are of quality construction but do not have any grounding lugs so not as useful for applicationsCan't find any explanation how this would work without a grounding wire and if one should be added

OK units check that the female end is not obstructed
Old ham guy here they are a ok one for your TV or FM antenna . the coax would not go in ? looking found the hole was obstructed by the plastic insulator a 28 gauge drill bit in a pin vice will open it up just fine just do not go too far in that will ruin them .remember this is meant to bleed off static to prevent a lightning strike will not help in a direct hit ! a good idea is to add a ground wire to it connected to a suitable ground the amp here is metal cased and grounded to the rack the defect is the only reason not 5 stars .
