This light is less than half expensive as buying it retail. Great buy! Effective light, my water is finally clear.
I have a 350 gallon pond with plants, and 6 fish. This light runs in line and keeps my pond water crystal clear. I have it set to a photosensor timer that keeps it on for 6 hrs a day with my pond lights. Comes with all fittings you would need for I think 3/4 inch all the way to 1.5 inch tubing. Plug and play and very heavy duty. This is not a submersible fixture as you may already know. I did have one fail after a week, I think it came in defective from shipping. Emailed through Amazon and had another light in 4 to 5 days without having to send back my old one. Just sent a few pics and told them the problem. Hassle free and good service. Highly recommend!

Works wel
The media could not be loaded. My dilemma was my old system uses 3/4" piping and this UV light uses 1" piping. To use the old pump with your new UV light you will need a) 2 x 1" to 3/4" coupler, b) 3/4" to 1/2" coupler (optional),1 foot of 1' tubing (sold by the foot), and electrical tape. 1) cut 2" from the 1" tubing, wrap the tubing with electrical tape to protect from sun light, and connect to the input side of the UV light, then conecy to the coupler 1" side, next connect the pump to the 3/4" side of the coupler. 2) Wrap the remaining 1" tubing with electrical tape and connect to the output side of light. Connect the coupler on the 1" side. GET 2" of 3/4" piping and put the 3/4" to 1/2" on. You should now get a good flow out of the system. My app does not work with the camera and I have better thing to do with my time to spend 4 hour correcting it otherwise I would post pics.

Probably not for aquarium, even though it says so in the listing
This is partly on me for not measuring my filter tubing, but this requires minimum 1" inner diameter tubing, which is bigger than any canister filter uses as far as I know. Since it says "aquarium" in the listing, and shows so many adapter-looking pieces in the product photos, I thought I could put it inline in my filter return. I've been to three hardware stores so far and still can't find all the bits I need to make this work. It will take 1" tubing plus two plastic (not brass) 1" to 3/4" adapters that are barbed on both ends, plus hose clamps. If there's an easier way, I'd love to hear about it. It's probably great for ponds.

Poor quality
Bought this iv light a few months ago to use when my pond was finished, opened the box to find the inside glass was broken -the quartz sleeve(could not return due to the time) ordeed a new one and took a week to get on prime -opened the box broken glass. Everywhere. send it back ordered the new one and took a little over a week to get that one in just to find out when I open the box the glass in that one was broken so I returned for a refund- till they get replacement parts for these I would recommend going with a different brand

WOW , great product and fantastic company!
Not only does this work but I made a mistake (even though I had it covered with a fake rock) and left it outside for the winter. The water in the tube froze and then shattered the glass inside of it and breaking the outside seal. I called the seller and asked him to send me the parts and I would pay for it.He sent me a new one instead and said it was ok and I did not have to pay for it.WOW! A++, the fault was all mine and they still came out on top

Works Great with my75 gallon cichlid tank
The media could not be loaded. I mounted this 18w UV vertically to the output of my Fluval FX4 filter to replace an 8w in PVC pipe. My intent was to eliminate green algae growth on the walls of my 75 gallon acrylic aquarium. I still have some algae despite all the filtration and UV - but its manageable. The install was relatively easy. The UV has adaptors that fit the FX4 hose perfectly. The stiffness of the hose makes the hookup a little difficult, but it fits (must use hose clamps and silicon to ensure against leaks). The UV is a match for the 700 gal rate of the FX4. I really like the clear fitting for the UV input because you can easily verify water flow from the filter.
