Works great.
Works great for controlling circumstances. Disappointed that the item was restricted where I live safe to use around my property and pets.

Completely worthless.
I bought this product again and again to kill my ground squirrels in the Hollywood Hills. Not only did it do NOTHING, the squirrels PRIED OPEN THE CONTAINER and STARTED EATING THE "POISON" and STILL didn't die! (I have pics.) When I called the manufacturer, they were nice but essentially blew me off claiming they "can't" issue a refund. I call BS. Not only does their product not work, but they won't even do the right thing and issue a refund. The first part is bad, but the second is INEXCUSABLE. ZERO stars.

Very effective against Arizona ground squirrels
I will repeat what another reviewer wrote, because it exactly captures my experience. " I would say at least a month is required to really understand just how effective this stuff is. I would opt for the 25lb container next time, it goes much faster than you think."I had a major ground squirrel infestation... holes all over the place. I'd pour about half a cup down each hole, and then a week later I'd cover over the holes that were clearly no longer being used, and pour more bait down holes that were still active. It took me most of a 25-pound container to treat about a half acre of heavily-infested territory, but after about 6 weeks there were no remaining active holes.I live in southern Arizona. I figured that our ground squirrels are pretty similar to California ground squirrels, so this product should work here as well as in California. And I was right... it did. I've seen reviews that complained that it didn't work against chipmunks and so on. That is hardly surprising. Different rodents eat different things, and you shouldn't be surprised if a ground squirrel poison does nothing against chipmunks. But in my experience, this product is VERY effective against ground squirrels. One problem worth mentioning is that my 25-pound container was packaged and shipped in a lightweight cardboard box. When it arrived, the box was torn, the lid of the plastic bucket inside had come off, and little red pellets were spilling out of the package. Fortunately, not much product had been lost. I plan to order this again. Next time, I will try to communicate with the shipper in advance, telling them at least to strongly tape the cover of the plastic bucket to the bucket, and either use a stronger box or to reinforce it with a lot of packing tape.

Kind of works over time
I agree with many of the reviewers that this product takes time to work based on the concentration levels. Ramik & WIlco both worked much better for me in the past, but thanks to our wonderful legislators we cannot buy those.Yes, we can't buy CALIFORNIA Ground Squirrel bait in CALIFORNIA! We also can't shoot them in the city limits, nor can we trap them and move them away from homes. But we can pay thousands for foundation work after these buggers destroy our foundations. But that's another discussion......

Need a lot.
Need a lot of bait while squirrel bleed internally. Must keep bait station full. Combination of traps and bait are helping to control the beasts.

Gets the job done!
After a forest fire through our property, the following year ground squirrels moved in the areas of downed trees and grass. They quickly found my vegetable garden. The first summer they ate everything from tomatoes, corn, cucumbers and they even climbed the apple and peach trees and ate all of the fruit. This year at the beginning of summer they went after my blueberries. They chewed their way through the very solid barrier I have created to keep the birds out. I HAD HAD ENOUGH!!! I came across this Kaput product and was very optimistic. I also ordered bait boxes so that only the ground squirrels could take the bait. It took about three weeks and approximately 10 lbs of the poison bait to get rid of the ground squirrels. I haven't seen one in about a week or two. I will continue to keep the bait boxes full just in case a few stragglers come by the garden. I am extremely happy with the results.

Not effective
Don't waste your time and money on this product. It's not regular bait I've used before. It's wheat or barley dyed red. I concentrated using it on two squirrels for approximately a month with no result. They finally stopped eating it and did not appear any different and continued running around destroying everything they decided to chew on unabated.

Works well
Since we are very limited to the products we can use in California this works well. I put about 1/4 cup down in their hole and reapply a couple of days later...after the third dose the ground squirrels are gone..
