Bought for our Onyx shower upgrade for future needs. We are in our sixties and plan on staying in our condo for at least twenty years, so at some point we will likely need a seat in the shower. This one looks nice, is easy to use and stays up out of the way when not needed.

Only a few years I've owned this and paid for major installationUpdateWe applied marine varnish but should have applied teak oil. Bought 2 more so we don't have to redrill into tile.Seller offered generous discount and have excellent responses assuring quality way much improved. They may not replenish stock so if interested buy now. Sorry don't have new bench photo but I'm sure it will be better with the details they provided.

Love the black and teak, perfect solution to have a bench when want one and fold up when you don't. No more balancing like a rock climber to shave legs! I did have to order twice because delivered chrome when ordered matte black.

This product is well constructed. My remodeler instead of adding a 2 x 4 horizontal stud added a 2 x 6 horizontal stud for added support before the tile work. He also use larger screws.

Update info. To my surprise after I originally posted that I said the bench is the best that I ever had. I love the bench, but 2 months after installing the bench the front board began to crack and it don't look nice. I included some pictures of the front board that is cracking and the Amazon web site says that it to late to return the bench now. I kept the user manual and on the back side of it there's a paragraph explaining the Awelife Inc. warranty. The warranty says "Awelife Inc. guarantees your seat fittings against any defects in materials or workmanship for a period of 3 years from the date of purchase". I probably will have to make all new boards for it now to make the bench look nice again. I understand wood do dry out and crack and these Teak boards been coated with wood wax oil, the wood wax oil is made by pure natural oil and wax based. That didn't seem to protect the board from drying out. If anyone needs any idea on this bench the s.s. hardware is good and better than other similar benches, but the other benches have nicer wood with nicer finishes. So if you are a handyman you can make some nice boards later if the cracking happens to you. Good Luck!This is the best seat that I ever had. The other seat that I had looks similar but the hardware is made of cheap aluminum or white metal and it didn't last long since it corroded soo bad that it tried to push itself of the wall and I had to use a angle grinder to cut it of the wall. This Awelife bench has stainless Steel hardware. It also folds up so nicely where the old bench would not fold after awhile. I hope that this one will last.

Loved the initial look, installation and functionality! However, the beauty was short lived as it became moldy and developed dark black spots within a month of use. Even after treating it with oil and always airing it out.

I was nervous about the bench holding our weight or the seat part being "too small", but there is no issues at all. It is beautiful addition and the whole family loves it!

I paid for the installation fee and after the bench was received was told they could not install since it was being installed in a tiled shower. After 2 mos of sitting in the box, I found some one to install. After 2 mos of proper use, the wood is splitting and warranty has now expired. Contacted the company but have not received a response.
