Excellent salt for our deer.

This is my third different salt lick for the visiting deer. This one they love as you can see from the grainy picture...

I always get this for my goats. They love it and need the extra nutrients and minerals. I was getting the 5 lb but this is a better buy.

Still usable but there were quite a few broken pieces that came off the edges when I took off the plastic wrap. My mares love it though.

Horses are slowly getting used to this, it is a little harder than a regular white salt block and with only 11 pounds I was afraid they (6 horses and one donkey) would have it annihilated quickly, but they seem to just take their time licking it, a couple of them are trying to bite into it but have not succeeded in getting big chunks off as of yet. It's been two weeks and it's only about 10% down, so it's a good value. I switched to this because regular mineral blocks (like the 12-12) have protein and molasses added and my herd will eat one of them within two days. I am ordering the loose salt now too, so that I can make sure that even the 2 horses that I never see licking the block will get their minerals by top-dressing their grain with a spoonful. I guess it really depends on each specific horse how much they will get out of this block, definitely worth trying though, I like the guaranteed magnesium content!

Salty and easy to hang with the hole all the way through the block. Snow does not stick or cover it. (ha ha). Flavor is one of the questions on the review, but the salt lick says for animal use only. Flavor is SALTY , i just did not want to keep licking it and making my tongue sore. We will see how the deer like it, and i will let you know. Thank You

I would have been happy if the block was double the size or if they had sent me two blocks.
