We unpacked this item and the u shaped piece was too small to fit on the main frame. Since the metal is heavy duty there was no way the two pieces would ever fit together. In addition the product had no directions but we watched the video and were disappointed when the u shaped piece was not properly sized. We are returning this item.

I was so upset and almost returned it just because I missed the $10 discount because it is so hidden in there. Anyway. I decided to assemble it and test it for my mother inlaw before even returning it. It is necessary for it to have something resting on it like foot of the bed to make it stable. I decided to keep it since I think it helps my mother inlaw getting out of bed. One star deduction is actually because of the $10...

I'm 80 years old and bedridden, it was harder and harder for me to get out and back in bed. The way I was trying to get in bed, I knew I was going to fall and get hurt. This has been a lifesaver for me, I place the bar directly in front of my wheelchair, and I put my feet onto the platform plate. I pull myself up pivot and sit on the bed. I do the same in reverse getting out of the bed onto my wheelchair. Added anti-nonslip tape to the bottom plate. I highly recommend this bed rail.

I re-ordered this item and this time everything lined up perfectly. My 97 yr old dad smiles, every time he gets out of his chair, independently, with the use if this rail assist. It is sturdy, heavy duty & easy to assemble. . Glad I gave them another try!1st post) The screw holes on the railing did not match the holes on the floor plate. Returned & refunded. Will reorder and pray that this next one will be better aligned. .. as this item is very well made & seems to be exactly what we need. Worth a retry.

Hi, we need this rail to hold onto as we are frail folks. However, like many others , the company failed to provide screws or directions listing what type of screws are needed or provide a way to communicate. It would be so cool if they responded to me here and I can revise this because we love to give 5 stars, not 1. We can’t return it because it’s too heavy. We also can’t use it because we can’t assemble it or solve the “which screws” problem and question. If anyone out there can help us—my god please speak up!’ Thank you Amazon community.

It was hard to find a bed rail that would work for my mom’s adjustable bed (the kind that slides between the mattress and box springs would not work).This one does the trick. It was a little wobbly when we placed it on the floor with no other support. However, we put one of the legs of her bed on top of the square plate, and now it is very sturdy. It really helps my mom when getting out of bed.

This works as long as it is under steady furniture and not on carpet. The steel plate on the bottom slides very easily. I also don't recommend this for someone over 300 pounds. It would also be nice if the base was wider for standing purposes to give better stability.
