wolfcraft Universal Drill Clamp, Die-Cast Aluminium, Swivelling I 4800000 I for Power Drills, milling and Grinding Motors in Any Position

Initially the clamp came without a tightening bolt so I contacted Wolf directly on their web site, They replied straight away and said the missing part would be with me in a week or two. I now have the part and have tested the clamp thoroughly. It's a great piece of kit. Many thanks to the guys at Wolf, great customer service.

This drill clamp has been life-transforming... I can know undertake knife-sharpening, polishing, sanding and the use of a flexible drive attachment without relying on a definitely dodgy fix of the drill in my ancient B&D Workmate.Having said that, there are one or two things that would improve the clamp.For a kick-off it is a shame that the item comes WITHOUT AN ALLEN KEY (? 5mm ?) to loosen / tighten the bolts that clamp the various bits at your chosen angle. Fortunately I already had a set of allen keys but (on mine at least) the bolts were so factory-tight that it was only with great difficulty that I could loosen them. A strong pair of pliers on the allen key and a drop of 3-in-one on the nuts and threads helped a lot here. But I shouldn't have had to do that.The unit itself is what I would call 'precision cast'. None of the mating surfaces are machined in any way. This leaves the contact surfaces un-smooth and rather 'gritty' which might help them to lock together when clamped up tight but impedes the free-movement of the articulated pieces and makes it a bit hit-and-miss in positioning them. The solution to this was application of a little 'garage' grease on all moving surfaces.The drill clamp itself was ok, just a slight but worrying tendency to allow the drill to wobble. Thoroughly tightening the clamping bolt cured that (still worrying though).Most allen keys are not very long and barely provide enough leverage to tighten these bolts sufficiently. A length of 'extension tubing' would be a good idea. Also the screw-clamp that fixes the unit to a work bench is difficult to get sufficiently tight without the use of (eg) a screwdriver inserted into the eye as a lever.But once I had made these tweaks the unit performed well. For the price I don't think you could do better. But I am only giving it four stars because of the above hassles (....plus I dropped the screwdriver on my foot).

Solidly built and flexible positions. Just what I needed and hoped for.

Firstly, I've not used it yet. That said I suspect it'll be more than adequate but...It arrived with one of the screws rattling around inside the box.It is not packaged in its own box, the screw was rattling around in the big Amazon box so I was lucky it had not been lost.It was easy to dismantle to find the 'not so very trapped' nut inside - I was lucky I'd not lost that too.Doing this opened my eyes to the quality - its ok - but you're definitely getting what you paid for.Because the product is not individually boxed the tool was also rather scuffedI can live with that - it'll live in the garage - but I'd prefer my new tools looked, erm, new!I just need be careful how much I undo the screws or I'll be picking their nuts off the floor.

A good clamp I believe which manages to be lightweight and stiff at the same time.However, was delivered by Amazon in a useless way, due to one of the screws missing. Thus, useless. I would give 0 points if it were possible.Two screws were clamped down in the most brutal way, I broke a drill bit driver trying to loosen them.After discovering the screw was missing I went through all recently received cardboard boxes in the hope of finding a Wolfcraft box with the missing screw. There was none.Thus it seems to me the company Wolfcraft is not at fault, the problem lies with Amazon shipping such items in those typical, open-air, "envelopes". A loose screw will just fall out.I suggest ordering this clamp somewhere else.

I've purchased a number of Wolf craft bits and pieces and they have all been affordable lower end tools that do what they say on the box within reason.When it first arrived I was a bit dubious as it is clearly cast alloy - so its not going to withstand heavy duty abuse. However, it held my 500 watt Bosch Drill surprisingly well allowing me to use it as an ad-hoc buffing/polishing machine for about 90 mins. I think its brilliant for light to medium duty ad-hoc applications (buffing/polishing, sanding etc) where a dedicated machine might not be justified. I'm very pleased with it.I would add that it's a drill holder for drills with 43mm collars. Its not a rotary tool holder nor does it claim to be!

Being a hobbyist rather than a serious woodworker I didn’t want the expense of buying a dedicated band sander so opted for this instead. If you take your time and practice a bit you can get some really good results and it is far quicker than hand sanding.On the down side it didn’t fit my ryobi or b&d cordless drills. I found an old b&d corded drill which it fitted perfectly.

Sturdy and easy to use. Fits and holds my old big plug in drill and helped to turn it into a much more useful spindle sander. The whole thing is metal, including the grey part. I think that is powder coated so it feels a little different. My drill is big and heavy, but I’m confident in the clamp holding it. The clamp is adjustable so it can hold the drill vertically or horizontally. Excelllent

Das Teil hält meine recht schwere Bohrmaschine gut fest, damit ich diese mit Polierscheibe gut betreiben kann. Nix wackelt. Der Preis ist angemessen. Die Aufnahme für die Bohrmaschine ist konisch, also schön richtig herum einführen, sonst passt es nicht.

Bonne stabilité et pratiquement pas de vibration en position horizontale ou verticale avec une perceuse relativement lourde. Je l'utilise pour des ponçages sur disque en main levéePour alleger la pression sur la mâchoire de fixation, j'ai renforcé l'attache sur l'établi avec un ajout de vissage vis M6 opposé dans un insert laiton de 12mm incorporé au plateau de l'établi.
