WASSERMANN RV Pump, 12V Self-priming RV Water Pressure Pump 4.0GPM 45PSI with Pressure Switch, for RV Marine Camping Yacht Garden

Bought this pump as a spare. As a full time RV’er it’s always good to have a backup when out boondocking or pipes that freeze that supply water to your system.Didn’t think I needed it right away. Two months after purchasing this pump my original pump failed.I was referred to the Wassermann as a direct replacement for my Pentair. For some reason I thought that the 5 gpm would be better than the original 3 gpm which was around the same price.When my pump arrived I immediately noticed the motor was a 1” or more longer. Checked to make sure I had enough room and it looked good. Fittings were the same size and they also send a new screen filter and extra fittings and adapters. Not needed, but most manufacturers only send the pump. When I installed, except the motor was longer, everything was a good match. When I tested it, I noticed a flicker in my ceiling lights. Checked the difference in amps and found the Pentair 3 gpm had a maximum of 7.5 amp and the Wassermann 5 gpm had a 15 amp max. Oops, my bad. The gauge of the electrical wires were the same, but I guess the draw might be a little much for that circuit. So I’ll order the exact replacement and keep this one as a backup.Performance is good and noise is about the same as the Pentair

UPDATE: Wasserman contacted us and offered a refund. Because of this exceptional customer service, we are upgrading to 5 stars.The pump works fine, but it is the LOUDEST pump we've ever bought! Still deciding whether to return it or not. I gave it 2 stars because it does work, but it sounds like someone is using a jackhammer in our RV. So disappointing!

other pumps cycle on/off and pressure is always fast/slow, fast/slow, etc. if you're using an inline water heater, then the temperature varies with water flow. not acceptable.this pump has very steady flow. you adjust the flow at the faucet and it stays that way.not tested for longevity or corrosion resistance... yet.

Installed one of these to replace a very old Jabsco potable water pump on my boat. I did use an input water line strainer. The pump worked great but then failed within the first 24 hours following installation. I ordered and installed a second identical pump, thinking I had just gotten that one-off bad item. The second pump failed within 48 hours. In both cases, it seems to be a pressure switch failure since the pump has power but does not try to energize (no, it has not blown a fuse). I am done with this brand. I am replacing with a Shurflo and hope to have better luck. Obviously it would get zero stars if the interface allowed.

We did not need a new one but I was attracted to the 5gpm/55psi vs the traditional 3.5gpm RV models. It installed in a snap and I could barely hear it. It's clean, it's adjustable, there are some great attachments to help align to your existing install, and it comes with a whole roll of teflon tape. We have a 100gal fresh system with residential fixtures and so wanted the extra bump in pressure and volume without compromising the pex piping/fittings. This is perfect.A word of caution: I ordered a new pump and got a used one instead with no parts. It even had used teflon tape wrap on the threads. Back it went. Just double check the box to make sure it is new if that's what you ordered! Mistakes happen and the new one arrived the next day.
