Well, this is one of those products that is sort of hard to really tell if it's doing anything or not to be honest. I guess if you had a lawn on death's door and applied this lawn food you could probably expect to see a miraculous turn around pretty fast. While I, admittedly, have a big old black thumb and my front yard is rough, it's no zombie lawn just yet.Let me be honest here, I am not so invested in my yard grass that I own a bunch of fancy equipment like spreaders or seed throwers. It's just grass - it'll grow or it won't and if I put something special on it, I'm doing that out of an abundance of generosity and good will. I spread these granules out using the decidedly old fashioned way - a red solo cup, a steady hand and a best guess by eyeball as to if I was laying out an even layer or not. My first impression upon opening the bag was horror - it smelled like a very ripe cat litter box. And that is why I do not get involved with fancy yard care as a rule - it's gross.Nonetheless, I staggered out with a grimace and tossed this food out on my grass. There were no clumps and it spread smoothly. Scotts bag claims that your grass will be greener and prettier in just 3 days, so I took a photo of one spot one day one, day two and day four. I'm including the first and last photos. It looks a bit greener to me in that spot. The overall lawn looks greener to me in general as well. Of course, we've also gotten rain this week too, so....could be the lawn food or could just be mother nature, but odds are good it's the lawn food. I'm just sorry I had to smell it before it I put it out - lesson learned.******** 45 Day UPDATE ******Wow! The grass where this was applied has gotten really rich green in color and thicker and held the deep color. I've done nothing else to it other than water since this was put on that part of the yard 45 days ago.
