Cheap light wood with uneven seams and busted corners

We recently created a faux fireplace wall in our livingroom where we mounted the tv above it and this mantel was the icing on the cake!! My only wish is that you could secure it in place better somehow. I was a little nervous with the stockings hanging and having little ones around at Christmas time. I have a feeling at some point we may need to screw it down from the top to help it to stay in place.

I love it and easy install

I love this shelf! Seems super sturdy. Comes with anchors, but the only way to hang these shelves is on studs. I've tried with anchors and it doesn't seem secure if you plan on placing heavy items on it. Only hang on studs unless you want a sagging shelf that cant hold anything. These are huge and NEED the extra support.

This whole thing would be a simple and beautiful accent mantel, if it weren't for all the small damages/imperfections and one corner being smashed in. It's apparent the it was dropped prior to packaging. The nailed edges are not very secure, it should have been also glued or adhered somehow. The finish is very rough, too many splinted pieces to hurt yourself on. The inner mount was damaged and clearly not a very strong support for a mantel. It just doesn't look like it will hold up long, even after repairing the end piece. This is such a plain and simple design, it's easy to replicate. But I personally think this is not worth buying. It doesn't look like it was crafted with very much care and pride. I'm very disappointed about the quality.

This mantel is not at all what it looks like in the photos. I was thinking it was gonna be a big, thick, sturdy mantel.... and boy they totally fooled me! I knew when my 11 year old brought the package inside, holding it with one hand, something was off lol It was coming apart on the ends and it wasn't due to poor packaging..it's just soley from poor workmanship and cheap wood. The bracket that you're supposed to use to mount it on the wall is so flimsy and falling apart as well. I wouldn't trust it to hold the mantel on, let alone anythingelse on top pf the mantel. I tried to fix it, by putting a couple more finishing nails in...but the wood started to SPLIT.It looks cool from a distance, and I really like the rustic/burned finish on it. But, I'm not even sure if I'm able to use it as it is.

The Wooden Fireplace Mantel received was not ready to install in a main room of my house. The craftsmanship was very poor which required that I would need to do significant work to bring the mantel up to the standards required for hanging in a living room space.Ultimately, I might be able to make it work high up in another room as a "shelf", but a mantel is front & center for everyone to see who walks into my house.The Good:-Where the stain is applied correctly, the color is beautiful and accurate to description-Lightweight - The mantel is hollow, since it is built of 1X4. When correctly cut and stained, this method can give you a very functional and attractive look. Unfortunately, as I will call out again in the BAD section, neither the cutting nor the staining was good quality.-Ease of install - Straightforward to install. Although no instructions were supplied, a board was supplied to attach to the wall, with plenty of extra-long screws, then you just slide the mantel onto the board.The Bad:- Craftmanship.
