Q: The title says headphone, can you actually use them as headphone? I only see comments about them used as earmuffs.

Q: Would this cancel out the sound of thunder or just lower the sound?

It muffles the sound of my shot gun well but I can still hear it. Keep in mind it's inches from my ears. Im sure this will keep the sound of thunder very low or completely out depending on how loud it is 

it's probably a description mistake, they certainly are not headphones, but they are nice earmuffs
