The motor went out on our ceiling fixture, and I was dreading having to replace it, but found this as a replacement for the fan itself only, which is all it really needed...less expensive, less waste, and easy to install, it has been working well the last few years.

Unit replaced old fan exactly. No need to enlarge slot for electrical connection.

I chose to order a replacement motor rather than a whole new unit. For starters, I needed 2. I had looked into some decorative fans/lights for my bathroom but the reviews made the decision for me. I didn't want to pay for something that would rust in a short time (or at all for that matter). After looking for something I thought I would be happy with and for a unit to fit in the existing "cut out", I came to the conclusion to keep what I had and improvise (I like to do that a lot). As I am not really crazy about the motor, it is a bit noisy but I can deal with it, it drowns household chaos sometimes. Incredibly easy to install. Pop out covering, unscrew, unplug, pull old one out, set new one in, plug in, reassemble outer case and turn it on. I will attach a few pictures of my newly remodeled bathroom done by myself. You will see I bought a can of stainless steel spray paint and painted the outer plastic of the fan to give it the decorative look instead of cheap looking plastic. I also painted my toilet paper holder instead of buying new. I covered my existing counter top (yucky cream color) with granite like contact paper. Re-stained and cleared all of my wood work. Repainted the ceiling and walls. Added 4 drawers that were just faced like a drawer with Rev a shelf (love them). Bought new vanity light fixtures and a glass shelf/towel holder that I put the granite contact paper over the glass to match the rest. I know all of this doesn't have a lot to do with the review of the fan motor but just thought I would throw this out there as I would have loved to read this for an inexpensive DIY project

This is a good piece of kit. I bought it through Amazon because the big box stores did not have any Nutone fans in stock. So I figured if the box store wants me to wait for them to get the model I needed, I may as well get it through Amazon. Like they probably do. So I did. It looks and fits exactly like the OEM fan it's replacing, and it seems to be a little more powerful. Just pull the old fan out (first look around for the sheet metal screw -or screws- that are physically holding the fan in place. Take them out first.) and put the new one in by following the original electrical connections. Put on a few wire nuts, and you're done. If I had any qualms about the fan, it may be a little more noisy than the old fan. But it just may be that the old fan was running on empty. Good product, great performance.

The old fan was worn out. This was far easier to replace than I had imagined. Going with the original manufacturer product was a good plan. No going up into the attic. Wish I had found this long ago.

The fan works very well. We have a bathroom fan that I installed in 1987. I would have replaced the whole unit but I couldn't find one as nice as the one we have. This is the second motor replacement in all of that time. When I first opened the box it looked identical to the old unit. When I tried to install it I found that the opening for electrical receptacle was about a 1/4" off and one of the female plugs was not fully in the opening. I tried to install the new fan into the the old holder and it was an 1/8" too deep and the fan rubbed. I then lengthened the receptacle hole in the new holder, This solved the problem. The fan worked fine but it rattled. I covered the edges of the holder with gorilla tape so it wouldn't rattle against the housing. That took care of it. The fan works well. It is not excessively noisey. The whole process would have taken about one half hour if I didn't try the other things that didn't work. I decided for this long description to save others that extra work.

This was exactly what I ordered. I had an old fan and thought I would have trouble finding the same one. It fit PERFECT !!

This was a good replacement item for our old bathroom fan...didn't need to put in a new fan compartment...working fine! Same noise level as the older OEM fan taken out.

In fact I had to order different model number because I couldn't find my original671CB ,but this one what I ordered has all dimensions the same,and everything is working very good.
