Good practice for cross stitch beginners
My 1st cross stitch project. Lots of floss left. Left in cold water overnight and the printed pattern disappeared completely.I think stamped cross stitch kits are good for first timers to try.If you are not sure about going into cross stitch, these kits are cheap. So no pressure on just give up.However, the colors in this particular pattern actually pretty “jumping around here and there”. Beginners might want to start with other easier patterns.

Very Nice Kit, but Not For Beginners
I bought 2 different kits and decided to start this one first. This is definitely not for beginners. I did alot of cross stitch as a young adult and consider myself at an advanced level, but even I find this design a bit overwhelming and challenging. It's very detailed and intricate, but I'm thinking it will be quite nice once it's completed. The first 2 pictures show the printed fabric and where I've started with dark navy blue thread. A few things to note....the fabric has finished edges and is stiff, but its workable and therefore doesn't require a hoop. It does require good light and a pair of reading glasses to see what you're doing. The design is precisely printed on the fabric and uses a colored symbol code. The key to that code is printed on the fabric around the edges of the design (pic 1). This is a bit confusing because some of the color coded symbols are almost identical and differ by only a subtle shade variance, so I've been using the paper guide (pics 4 & 5) to make sure I've selected the right color thread. This key uses letters that also correspond to the thread #s. It makes the whole process of thread selection easy and accurate. The thread is presorted by number (that corresponds to both keys) and is precut into long pieces that are just right for separating into 3 strands and working a sizeable section. DMC #s are provided in case you run out, but so far, the one section I've completed had alot of extra thread left over. The provided needle is a bit of a pain to thread. That would be my only complaint so far. Also, included in the kit is a page of written instructions (not pictured) that explain how to get started, how to do cross stitch and how to wash it once you're done.I will update this review as I complete this. I'm very concerned about washing the finished work. I'm wondering if the dye that is supposed to wash out will stain the lighter colored threads. Giving it 4 stars for now until I know.

Great kit with everything that you need included and pre-sorted!
I haven't cross-stitched in years and didn't realize that there are stamped kits out there until now! I wasn't sure if I would like the stamped kit, but for the price, I decided to try it. I'm sure glad that I did!The color/pattern key is printed on the fabric itself, so that when I'm on the go, I do not have to take the paper pattern key along with me. It reminds me of a paint-by-numbers, except that I'm stitching, instead of painting.Other people who purchased the kit have complained about there not being enough thread to complete the project, but I have found that they included a little more than enough. I don't have a TON of leftover thread, but I have not yet felt worried that I would run out before the project was completed. If I do happen to run out, they DO include the DMC number, so you could easily go to a craft store and purchase additional thread. The instructions are obviously translated over from another language, but are fairly simple to understand. They include instructions for both stamped canvas, and non-stamped (blank or "counted") canvas. The thread and canvas are of good, sturdy quality. I only had one thread break on me, and I think it was my fault from when I was separating threads (perhaps I was a little too aggressive with it).Unlike previous kits that I have purchased, the thread in this kit comes pre-sorted on cards, with the colors matching the corresponding pattern number. They also included 2 needles. There is no need for an embroidery hoop with this kit, as the canvas is quite stiff and as long as you do not pull the stitches ridiculously (and I mean aggressively!) tight, the canvas retains its shape. For the price, I feel that you honestly can't beat the hours of enjoyment I have already gotten out of this.I am not quite finished with the project, but wanted to get a review out there. I will edit my review once the project is completed. I am very curious to see how the stamping washes out at the end. :)**I have not been paid to write this review. This is just my honest opinion on this product**

NOT FOR BEGINNERS
This cross stitch is definitely NOT for beginners. When you get into it, it is moderately difficult. But it's lovely when completed. Well worth it.

How Much Thread You Get
The pictures are nice and instructions are easy, but they do not send enough thread.

Colorful Cat
This is my second cross stitch project ever and I enjoyed doing it. There was plenty of floss and quite a bit leftover when completed. Most of the floss was very good, but I did have problems with one color that raveled badly and I wanted to tear it out and start with new floss. The printed pattern did not always match the holes and was confusing for a beginner like me. I did have to tear out a section and rework it as I became more proficient. Still had lots of floss to do the correction. Colorful Cat turned out pretty cute in the end. My friend was delighted to receive it as a gift.

Unsure if all materials are there
I like the printed fabric and having the treads (hopefully) in the kit. The one sent me appears to have been a return and was repackaged/no longer in original package, so I am not sure if everything needed was included in the package. Hoping if I find I am missing anything that the seller is responsive, but will update when I have more information.I do not recommend these kits for beginners - I have done a previous one and the thread amounts are very close to what is needed without any waste. The tread is not high quality, has slubs, and tangles easily which would be very frustrating for a beginner and likely lead to insufficient thread to complete the project if you are not experienced in removing knots.

GETTING RID OF BLUE GRID LINES = THEY ARE AN EYESORE TO A PC THAT HAS TAKEN HRS
I have sent an email to your Maydear acct regarding the fact that I am 1/2 way completed & have run out of various colors. I did break the 6 strands down to do the cross stitch as I usually would, but have still run out of #03, #05, #11(A), #12(B), #23(N), I am an accomplished cross stitcher so believe me this would not be considered my fault. NOT VERY IMPRESSED. Also the blue 10st lines crossing this PC of artwork in both directions do NOT show on the original purchase and ruin the PC. I feel like I'm supposed to go out & purchase 5 white skeins & backstitch over the quite prominent blue grid lines. IS THERE A WAY TO GET RID OF THESE BLUE GRID LINES WHICH MAKE THIS LABOR OF LOVE AN EYESORE & ARE MOST DISTRACTING. I MIGHT ADD THEY "DO NOT" SHOW THESE LINES AT THE PURCHASE STAGE. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER.

Floss is poor quality.
I really liked the canvas and how it is clearly marked to indicate colour. (Not really important but I am a bit confused by the outer background stitches as the pattern shows them as half stitches but in the photo they are clearly full?). The main issue I have is with the floss. I am used to working with DMC or similarly high quality floss and this does not compare to it at all. If I had not already begun the project I would consider returning it. As it is, I will either re-kit it with better floss or I will give it away.

Love but ran out of some thread colours
Love this project! It's going to take hours and hours, but it's so relaxing! The kit is really easy to use, and I would give it 5 stars, but I am only about 10% done and have already run out of two colours. I am being extra sparing with the threads, too, so I was surprised when this happened. If they gave you just one extra strand of the sparing colours, that would be perfect.

Easy to do but has spelling error
This cross stitch being printed is fun and easy to do. Is us quite large which I wasn’t expecting but that’s my fault for not noticing the size. There is a word on the bottom that is supposed to be summer but is spelt sommer so that’s unfortunate and I’ll have to try to fix it myself.

Arrived early!
Bigger than I expected, and came early. Colours are exactly what I wanted. Excellent price! (Wasn’t sure at that price)
