Great book on orchids

I liked how this book was put together. Very readable and concise. Nice artwork and format. I would have appreciated a little more detail on the differences in orchid species. It might have been an intentional effort on the author's part to streamline the info, but I was left with the feeling that I was reading the same info repeatedly for different orchids. Again, that is likely because the same care applies to the subject orchid species. I would recommend this book to all but the most advanced orchid growers.

This was a gift for my bestie. She has taken an interest in orchids. And as an artist, loved the beautiful full color pictures.

This book is a good beginner's reference. The style is fun and makes orchid growing inviting. It has a smaller size so it won't take up too much space and is a good quality print. I bought it as a gift for a friend who is just starting growing.*If you want extensive botanical science of orchids, this book is not the book.

This book is fun to read as it has very basic info about different orchids. The pictures draw you in, for sure. If you’re looking for a real book with real info to help propagate and learn all the different parts of orchids—like wtf a Kiki is or what the roots should and shouldn’t look like… This is not the book for you. The living conditioned for different orchids are genetically written, too, so… Join an orchid group on Facebook or something for real info. I still enjoy the book, though.

The book is everything you need to start your orchids and understand them.

Got two stunning moth orchid plants for my birthday and wanted to try keeping them alive. This book told me everything I needed to know, without burdening my mind with esoteric details. Both plants have finished flowering, been cut back and re-potted successfully, and are putting out new stems as we speak -- can't wait to see the next bloom time! Recommended for newbies!

Es un buen libro en general. Bastante básico, pero ideal para quien es la primera vez que accede al mundo de las orquídeas. Como obra de referencia rápida es práctico y sencillo. Obviamente, no abarca todas las especies, sino las más comunes o probablemente con la que empieza quien se inicia en esta actividad. Tiene el problema de presentar un enfoque muy nortamericano, y para quienes somos de latinoamérica, muchas de las especies, accesorios, medios y fertilizantes no son igualmente asequibles o tienen nombres y presentaciones diferentes. Sin embargo, vale mucho la pena.

Excellent quality book. Nevertheless it is very limited as for phalenopsys orchid. Is has like 4-5 pages about this most popular orchid type. Book is nice but no useful

I was hoping a more of a guide to grow orchids. A lot of information on the different varieties.

Truly knowledgeable in regards to all types of orchid maintenance.A great gift for all who grow orchids.
