Excellent neuro book
I used this book the past semester in med school. I think that this is one of the best text books that I have used thus far. Let me detail why.1) Clearly written prose - Blumenfeld does a great job of writing things in a clear and concise way. You're expected to understand the terminology, but he makes sure not to bury sentences in neuro jargon. I had previous experiences where the sentence started in one place and before the end of it I was completely lost and bogged down by unfamiliar, 65 letter words. This stuff is obviously complicated, but this book does an excellent job of elucidating the concepts and structures.2) Clinical cases - Blumenfeld backs up the explanations and normal paragraphs with clinical cases that highlight concepts from the chapter. This stuff is practical and useful. There are dozens of these cases throughout the book and each of them works really well to help teach you the material. It is really helpful to be able to apply the material to a real world scenario.3) Pictures - There are loads of pictures in every chapter. He doesn't inundate you with useless diagrams either. Rather, he stays focused throughout on providing explanations that are not in standard paragraph form. Lecturers at my school copied and pasted directly from this book for our lecture slides.Overall, this book is a great study tool. I highly recommend it.

Neuroanatomy Through Clinical Cases
Absolutely top notch text book. Well written, with good diagrams. Ideal for a medical student who has the time to read the text. Studying a high quality neuroanatomy atlas at the same will greatly improve your neuro grade. I could not imagine reading a different resource as this book absolutely crushes neuroanatomy! Thanks Hal!
