End-to-end, mine measure 8-7/16" long for the one with the rounded hook (1/16" less than 8-1/2"), and 8-11/16" long for the one with the 90-degree hook (1/16" less than 8-3/4").

Are they screwed into the aluminum or press in?

If you look at them closely, you can't tell if they are pressed or screwed, in fact the two ends could be one. Really what difference does it make, they work as intended. Worth their cost.

Could these be used to scrape carbon off valves ?
