Nice big plants
I've ordered these every year for the last five years, this year's plants are big and healthy with a nice root system. I try and order these on the weekend so they ship during the week and don't get stuck in the back of a hot truck somewhere, I have also found that ordering early before the temperatures warm up is key.

Huge disappointment!
When they arrived they were extremely small and already turned yellow. Leaves were falling off. I fertilized them as directed and when I put them in my pond they basically fell apart in the water. I will not purchase from them again.

Attractive and healthy plants
The media could not be loaded. I purchased one group of 3 water lettuce plants for a new, outdoor pond. When they arrived, there were a few hair-like roots on each plant but I had read other reviews and trusted they would do fine. I put them in the pond right away and they have done quite well. Initially they kept getting stuck places but once the roots started descending they sort of stay in the shallows (6-inches or so deep). Pictured at 1 week in the pond, they are starting to flower and sprout new plants as best I can tell. I had wondered how they reproduced and I am excited to see them doing so well. The fish like the roots to hide in and so do the tadpoles! I purchased two other types of plants from this seller and all are doing very well.Update: We have had three types of plants from this seller, water lilies, a fern-like water plant, and the water lettuce, for 2 months. They have thrived and really made our pond much more attractive. The lilies have been blooming for a couple of weeks now and the water lettuce has spread over a good amount of the surface area and is oxygenating the water very well. The full ecosystem is fantastic.

A little disappointed
This is my second time ordering WL, and I must say I was somewhat disappointed in the second order. My first order was for a single WL, and it was beautiful! The second order was for a three pack, and all three looked as if they had been munched on already by a critter. The roots on all 3 WL were almost nonextant One was very tiny in size, as you can see in the pictures compared to the others. Overall, I would probably take a chance and but them again if I need to but I didn't get what I expected.

A bit worried when I first got them, but they are doing wonderfully.
When I received them only 3 were still together. All the leaves had fallen off of the others. As you can see from the pictures they didn’t look so hot. They were very small and look like they are dying. I took all the little pieces of root in the bag that had fallen apart and put them in pots. I was a bit worried, but as you can see they took off!

Healthy plants & comparable to local pond supply purchase
Very pleased with this purchase - photos show direct comparison to local pond supply purchase.Shipping was prompt and the packaging was fine. The description was accurate as to size - these are not huge specimens at shipping, but I have found that smaller plants have less shipping and transferring "shock" so that was fine with me. There was some edge-leaf yellowing which is not unexpected but the centers were healthy and the roots were fine for getting established. It happened that a local pond supply company put out a new supply of water lettuce a day after I received this order, and I bought 5 comparably-sized specimens as a little mini-experiment to see how they'd all do. The first picture is the 3 that I ordered from AquaLeaf on the day they arrived. (That's frogbit beside them.) I kept the mail-order and local sets separate in the pond and moved them together this morning for the second picture. 10 days in they are all alive and thriving and putting out baby-lettuce extensions, almost indistinguishable.Thumbs-up for AquaLeaf!

Buy Local
Water Lettuce was as advertised and survived shipping. The plant is still alive well over a month later, however the roots were cut back so far for safe shipment that the plant is well behind plants i purchased 2 weeks ago locally. The local plants have already multiplied 4-5 over. These plants have not generated daughter plants still. I was also able to buy 4 times the number of plants for this price by buying local.Next year i will wait until local supplies are available.
