Q: Why did the price double in the last 4 months?

Not sure what you were used to paying. Everyone sells either really low to dump the product or at a fair price to try to make a profit.

Q: what is the thickness of the paper? 20lbs?

The pads that I have is "AMPAD, Engineering computation Pads", I measured the thickness to be 7.5mm or 0.28inch for 100 sheets. So each sheet is about 0.75mm or 28Mil thick.
