Forum Full Length Mardi Gras Cape

PRO - this item is beautiful in person. The velvet material is nice and soft. The colors are vibrant and festive. The high collar is nice and sturdy and stays up well. I am 5' 7 1/2" tall and the cape hits to about my ankles so that's good. I don't have to worry about it hitting or dragging along the floor.CON - 1. The velcro at the neck is uncomfortable. I tried to pull it down or move my cape forward over my shoulders so the velcro would move forward and away from my neck but gravity and the weight of the high collar keeps pulling the velcro strap back to the front of my neck. So you would have to play with the strap by either taking the ends of the velcro and wrap or tuck or pin against your bra strap or whatever sleeve or shoulder strap you're wearing or you'll have to deal with the velcro strap touching the front of your neck. Not sure if the tie pictured would have made it any better because you're still dealing with the weight and gravity of the high collar and weight of the cape.2. The packaging should say what size this can fit. I'm a size 16 and this did not close in all the way in front of me. If you're a size 16 then the cape will hang as shown on the mannequin in attached photos. If you're a size 12 and under then it should cover the whole front of you as well, otherwise letting it hang off your shoulders is the way to go to also show off your outfit.3. It would have been nice if the mask pictured came with the cape or offered an option to buy it as well. I couldn't find the pictured mask anywhere.I would have given this item 5 stars if the cape was EXACTLY as pictured in the photo meaning if it came with a tie vs the velcro straps.Overall the cape is nice and I would wear it again when another Mardi Gras, costume, or Halloween party arises. I would order from this company again. The item arrived faster than expected.

The size is for adults, but it will fit comfortably on small and medium built women. I wear a large, and it doesn’t feel comfortable; also, the picture shows a tie neck, but it’s a Velcro strap which is very itchy. I am very disappointed in this cape.

I was timid to buy this due to the mixed reviews of it.. I have just received it in the mail and must I say, I am in love. I was thoroughly surprised at how awesome the material is and and am currently just lounging around in it. Trust me, you will love it.

Very nice material--soft and flowy, doen't wrinkle--exactly what I needed. One small caution for those like myself, who are 'vertically challenged': I'm 5'2", and, thankfully, wore 6 1/2" platform heels with this. Had I not had the heels, it would have been too long out of the package. It's got a straight-forward hem, however-so just give yourself time to have it taken up. . .the alteration won't ruin the look. Vibrant and fun, and perfect for that Harlequin/Mardi Gras look!

Like other reviewers stated it is a little short on material. But the reason I returned mine is that instead of the gold tie at the neck it had an ugly tab on either side that attaches with Velcro. The Velcro scratches your neck and the tabs look tacky.

I would absolutely love this cape, except the material sheds all over. When you wear it the first time, be sure you aren't wearing anything dry clean only. I threw this on when I came home as a lark for the kids, and minutes later my suit was covered in shiny little tiny threads.

Not as described in the site but it’s all good!!! Still who cares for material. I ordered it to wear to my 2018 New Orleans Mardi Gras. ... Ready to show it off on French Quarter streets. Thank you.
