As a beginner, I like the details it gives about the basics. It's fun to pick up and re-read the details as I'm trying to perfect my paddling.

This is a quite comprehensive book on kayaking. I will use it as a reference as my skills and confidence grow. I do find some of the "how to" photos and narrative descriptions a bit difficult to visualize.

I love this book. I wanted more input from the book on flatwater kayaks. It is a great start and will not take it for granted about the information that was imparted.

Plenty of useful information. Very well explained, and with sufficient detail that you can really learn the strokes covered, not just get some vague ideas. Enough personality in the writing to help you stay engaged. Ken Whiting not only is an expert on the subject, he is a good teacher.
