Another PCS
We are moving at the end of the year so this was the perfect book for my daughter. She is still a baby but since my husband is in the Army It will come in handy again. We did post a picture of her reading this book to announce we were moving.

Help Children know what to expect when moving.
As always Mercer Mayer has written a book about moving that children can relate to. My granddaughter is going to be moving so I purchased this book to help normalize the feelings she has about moving. This book addressed leaving things behind, feelings about moving, losing friends, and then about the excitement of a new home, as well as the move itself.

Great Book
My daughter is three & she loves all of the Little Critter books by Mercer Mayer. We are about to move so I bought this book for her to help her understand all the changes that are going to happen. It does a good job at it & overall I am pleased with yet another of Mercer Mayer's books.

Returned it - Horrible
Oh my gosh, what a horrible book. This is not helpful for children processing a move at all. It talks about all the ‘what if’s’ of the new home and they are all negatives. Not how I want my little boy thinking through a change. This book brings up anxieties he may not even have.Direct quotes:”I will have different & strange neighbors. They might even be monsters”“What if I have to go to a new school full of bullies & a really mean teacher”“Mom & Dad began cleaning out the house & I found some really neat stuff. Mom won’t let me keep any of it...mom said the [moving helpers] are coming to pick it all up. Now leave it alone”And then at the end it talks about all the same friends being at the new house when they drive up. Which will not happen to us because we are military & are moving to the opposite side of the country. It’s like an adult with a sour perspective on the world wrote this. See pictures, you’ll be as shocked as I was. It’s laughably bad.

Helped our 3 year old through a move
Our 3 year old was already obsessed with Little Critter books, so when it came time to move houses this was a natural choice to help him through the experience. Not the best book in the series but it did the job just fine.

If you're moving to a new neighborhood, this book ...
If you're moving to a new neighborhood, this book won't be as helpful as it could be. Little Critter is so worried about losing his friends and school only to discover that they've moved closer to his current school and his friends are still close. We are moving to a new city, so I amend this when reading it by saying the house is closet to a new school and new friends.

Love Little Critter
This is the best series of books for kids. My kids read them and now my grandkids are reading them. They explain everyday life in a way kids can understand

Classic Critter
The little critter collection is always a bedtime classic. These books are quick to read and are full of colour to keep your child engaged. They are funny and whole hearted. You can easily read 1 or 2 a night and enjoy them yourself just as much as your child does.

Especially good for local moves
I loved this series as a kid and my son quite likes it now. I wanted to help him prepare for a move so I got this book for him. It was really helpful, but I wish the ending had been the family moving to a whole new place and getting settled there instead of just moving to a new house in the same general neighborhood.

If you are looking for a book about moving beyond your neighbourhood, keep looking
This is a great book for someone who wants to explain what it means to move... down the street. If you're looking for a book that deals with the loss and new experiences involved with moving a significant distance, keep looking. In this book, little critter moves within his neighbourhood and still has the same friends, so nothing really changes.

Bad art, bad morals.
This book is a far departure from the critters books of my youth. The art style looks cheap, rushed and all digital and lacks any of the charm and warmth of the originals. More importantly, the entire story leads up to how the kid fears moving because of all the new things he’ll be exposed to - like a new school, and it turns out they move around the corner and he gets to keep the same school and friends! This is so rarely the case in real life that it fails to assert the positive aspects of moving and my little one now has this idea that we’re moving around the corner now.
