I adore this journal
Edit: ok, that pen though, no.Don't even THINK of water around that pen. Sure it write smooth, but the ink smears from even the most micro of droplets of liquid. Dont you even consider sneezing in the same room as that pen. Every page has a smear from something. Like blowing off eraser bits, smear.. (The pen does not smear while writing or anything, just when it gets wet. But somehow it DOES get wet. It draws in its own moisture from the air i think lol) Just get yourself a waterproof pen and save yourself the anger.Journal: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐the pen: ⭐Original review: I like this journal so very much! Its so cute, the color of the cover is nice and saturated. A beautiful golden mustard color, and lots of other colors to pick from. It has a nice feel/texture to it as well, like softened leather, but also you can tell it isnt actually leather, its just has the vibe of softened leather.--the paper is 160gsm, so most pens/markers dont bleed though (but some definitely do! Use your "pen test" pages at the back of the journal to test your pens and markers before starting your journal!)--i love the pen. it's an 05 size- perfect for building your bullet journal grids. It dries quick and the ink doesnt smear around the page- im a lefty. Other lefties understand what i mean. 😋-- there is a little pocket at the back of the journal which is fun and can come in handy for like stamp sheets or sticker sheets or whatever. All the pages are also pre numbered.-- a lot of people are saying the pages are white, but theyre not. White out would appear noticably whiter than these pages. I tested white paint on the paper and it's definitely not white. I personally love the slight warmth to the pages, but it can make error correction a bit of a creative task. I used a few pages at the back as "repair pages" and I'll cut out cells and glue them over top of my mistakes. Works really well, as long as you can cut straight and you dont get glue on everything. I found it to be the most successful way to go.-there are 150 pages, but that includes the pen test page, which has a header on the front and back that says "pen test" so the journal actually ends at page 149.--it comes with a journal sleeve to store the journal inside of, if you want. I think that's super cute- My little journal coozieI love it so much. Cant wait to get a different color for next year's journal.

Great for ADHD and creatives
Have you ever been frustrated because your store-bought planner didn't fit your chaotic process? I've had several of these Iconic A5 bullet dotted Journals by STM. As well as their other styles. And because I visit it everyday and am intentionally creating the pages and lists instead of a predated or styled planner, I remember my tasks better. No judgment just a blank canvas. As someone who started off using the Day Runner many years ago, I love the freedom of these journals. Someone once told me (and I bristled at the suggestion) "Use one book for everything - calendar, appts, journal, doodling. I've struggled with buying multiple calendars and well marketed planners from other brands but the STMs are unbeatable. The iconic not only has a unique cover but thick pages, back pocket, an index to track lists and extra information and, NUMBERED page,s even though you may need your glasses to make them out, lol. I love that I can design my own calendar or weekly pages and I have the freedom to do one page per day or week. I also use stickers, watercolor pencils, Tombow markers and have no issues with bleed through. And of course if you actually use a BUJO method it's perfect for that too!

Great journal, okay pen
I began my first-ever bullet journal three months ago at time of writing this review, and had landed on the Scribbles That Matter A5 Dotted 160 gsm journal after a bit of initial research.I'm happy to say that the journal has met my expectations. The binding is holding up well despite heavy daily use and rough handling. The pages lay flat when it's opened, making it easy to work with. The paper is nice and thick; after testing pens in the back of the journal I've found that both the felt-tipped pen that came with the journal, as well as the Papermate Ink Joy gel pens I typically use from day to day, do not bleed through or ghost (fine line Sharpies do bleed through, though). The elastic loop for the pen is looking worse for wear after I've used it to hold an Ink Joy pen, but that's just a natural consequence of friction between the elastic and the rubberized grip of the pen.Speaking of pens, the felt-tip pen that came with the journal wrote nicely and did not bleed through, but it did tend to smear a little if you didn't give it time to dry. Also, the ink ran out more quickly than I liked; it made it through maybe a month and a half of journaling before it gave up the ghost and I switched to an Ink Joy pen (which is still going strong a month and a half later, even though it had already been used in other applications before it became my dedicated journaling pen).Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and plan to buy the same again when I fill this first one up.
