Very Helpful Routes
I have a lot of resources, maybe too many: specialized motorcycle maps and New England Riders website, for example. This book was my go-to for a recent week-long trip to northern VT and NH. (I live in MA.) Lovely routes and great descriptions.

Not useful for what I wanted to do
The book is written with the idea of helping a tourer new to the area. It assumes the rider will choose a "base camp" somewhere in New England, and will then go on "day trips" from the base camp to the surrounding area. It's probably pretty good for that kind of rider. But that wasn't me. I was trying to plan a trip from my home (North-Central Massachusetts) to a specific destination (Mt. Washington). It was to be my brother's first time riding in New England, and I wanted to show him the sights via "the long way." I guess I could have taken bits and pieces of Mr. Aiken's rides and put them together for our tour, but that would have been a very tedious job. Instead, I got an old-fashioned paper road map of the area and traced our route over the "wiggliest" roads. We had a great time.
