It has a slightly less sophisticated 8-phase power design and the versatile output configuration of Dual-link DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI and DisplayPort. Best 7950 around: very fast, quiet, tunable
I build custom high-end PCs for gaming and cryptocoin (Bitcoin, BTC, Litecoin, LTC, etc) mining so I've tried almost every brand's 7950 and this is one of my favorites. I was skeptical of the Vapor-X cooling but it does seem to make difference, running the card 5-10 degrees Celsius (10-20F) cooler than even the Dual-X Sapphire card which is pretty cool itself. So it will be faster at the same noise level or quieter at the same performance. It's also more tunable: you can over and under clock both the GPU and memory more than any other card I've tried. The only thing I would change would be to add a switch to turn off the white on-board LED. It doesn't really matter unless you have toddlers drawn to such things and if you do a small piece of electrical tape is a cheap, easy fix. Just be careful to cover only the LED so you don't interfere with cooling. For servers you stick in the basement you probably don't care about noise but if you have it anywhere near your ears (or your family's) this is the card you want. The only others that come close are the Sapphire Dual-X 7950 with boost and MSI R7950 TWIN FROZR .

This is one amazing Graphics Card!
Just received my new Sapphire 7950 Vapor-X OC with Boost!!!! All I can say is..."OH MY GOSH!!!!" This card is an absolute beast!!! From the minute I took it out of the packaging and held it in my hand I knew I was holding a Sapphire card. This thing is really well built, sturdy and strong, and the custom PCB is quite large. (9.5" but the total length of the card is 10.8" because of the fan shroud) so to those of you who have a tight case, measure accordingly. Best thing is the 8-pin and 6-pin plugs are on the side facing up, so the plugs don't add additional length. I read a lot of reviews and customer comments before I bought this card, and don't believe the negative statements. This card is cool and quiet! In fact it is the quietest card I have ever owned! My case fans are louder than it is. Even under load, it never gets very loud or hot. The warmest I have seen it so far was only 58 deg, Cel., and this was after 6 hrs of gaming. Here are some of the game that I have played with it so far:Batman Arkham CityTorchlight 2Crysis 2Sleeping DogsMax Payne 3NBA 2K13Ridge Racer UnboundedModern Warefare 3Battlefield 3Dirt 3Spec Ops the LineNeed for Speed Most Wanted (2012)Medal of Honor WarfighterAll of these I can max out, turn up the MSAA, and see fps I could only dream of getting with my now former 5850 Toxic. Again this is a great card!!!! You won't be disappointed!!! Fantastic!!!!

Fantastic value without sacrificing performance
I've owned this card for nearly 3 years, and it has expertly handled everything I've thrown at it. I play current-gen (2016) titles like The Witcher 3 and The Division on mostly high settings, turning down specific settings as needed (such as shadows). I exceed 45fps in TW3 and the game looks beautiful. In The Division, I see a steady 50fps outside of combat, and 30-40fps in combat, and I still wander Manhatten impressed by the environmental detail. Each time a big new title comes out, I start to wonder if I'll need to replace my 7950 - and every time, she dissuades me from the notion. This has been a great video card, awesome bang for my buck.

Amazing Upgrade
I'll tell you from the start that I'm no computer expert, and I've really only been on the PC gaming scene for just over a year, but this card is awesome. My first build ran an MSI Radeon HD 7770, and there really is no comparison to the 7950 here. With the next generation of gaming consoles coming out soon, I knew that PC games were going to start taxing my old hardware more and more, and I knew the 7770 wouldn't last me much longer along with the AMD FX-4100 CPU I had been running with it. As soon as I had unboxed the 7950, installed it, and fired up Battlefield 3, I instantly knew what I had been missing. The 7950 runs every game I have thrown at it with ease, and it still stays nice and cool in the process while keeping my FPS at over 60 at all times.I did my research before buying this card, and although the 7970s looked enticing, I really couldn't justify bumping my budget up another $100, when I knew this card would suit my needs. I don't over clock, so the idea of messing with the OC settings really doesn't appeal to me, but the addition of the easy OC button on the card is nice. I know it doesn't boost the memory that much, but it makes sense to have it on at all times.Perhaps the only thing that threw me off was the size of the card. The 7770 seemed large when I installed it, but this thing dwarfs my old card by a good couple inches. It almost didn't fit in my mid sized case, but it works with my rig now. I'm anxious to see how this card will handle new games like Battlefield 4 and The Witcher 3 later this year and early next year respectively, but if current games like ARMA 3 and Battlefield 3 are any indication of how the 7950 will perform, I should be fine for quite some time at High to Very High video settings.Another nice bonus was the free game selection that AMD offers for purchasing one of their 7900 series cards. I got three free titles as a part of the promotion which is something that Amazon doesn't advertise aside from the little gold emblem under the picture of the card on the item description page. Nevertheless, I'm perfectly happy with my purchase. I didn't know what I was missing out on before buying this card, but now that I've seen the light, I'll never look back!
