Uplifting and Varied Collection of Blessings, Poems, and Meditations
This book I have purchased for two friends and will likely purchase it again. I prefer the hardback vs. the paperback. More of these books should be distributed world wide. Thank you!

Calming & Healing
Rev. Maggie Oman Shannon has done it again! Prayers for Healing is exactly what the world needs now. Maggie is a wonderful minister & is well-versed in healing prayers from a myriad of sources. I was also so impressed that the Dalai Lama wrote the introduction! This is the perfect gift for anyone who is ill, having trouble with covid lockdowns or someone who needs a little more cheer. I can't recommend it enough!

Prayers for Healing
This book may be a disappointment to those looking for physical healing only and/or a consistent prayer format as this book is rather eclectic. The term healing is used in a very broad sense here and, for that matter, in many other similar books. However, if you are not pressed to solve a specific problem the book is interesting. I have several books like this and have yet to find one that had a typical, repeated prayer format for physical healing or mental healing for that matter. Prayers for world peace may involve healing, but it's not quite the same as looking for prayers that cover God's intervention for your brother's appendicitis operation.

Prayers for Healing
After reading the three collections of prayers by Elizabeth Roberts and Elias Amidon, Prayers for Healing: 365 Blessings, Poems & Meditations from Around the World by Maggie Oman was a disappointment. I found the included selections to be a very mixed bag. Some were wonderful and others were just odd. Some were only a sentence long. There was far more political content than I like in my prayers and meditations. The editor also included strange commemorations on various dates such as March 2nd (“English poet and author D.H. Lawrence dies in 1930) or March 22nd (“German philosopher Johann Wolfgang von Goethe dies in 1832. His last words were reported to be ‘More light!’”). Certain authors and books were used far too often including A Course in Miracles, the Bible, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Rumi. The book also includes far more explicitly Christian prayers than I would prefer in a supposedly multi-cultural prayer book: If I were editing the same type of book, I would select Christian works that were accessible to all belief systems, not just those who believe in the divinity of Jesus.

Prayers from different beliefs.
I have a stack of Prayers for Healing on my bookshelf, so that it's always available to give to someone who might need it. Someone who may be Christian, or someone who may not be.

A great gift for some one with or without health problems.
This was given to me as a Christmas gift by a neighbor. A GREAT GIFT, I purchased this as a gift for someone. There is a new volume which I have not seen yet.It is various poems and prayers from every source one could imagine, presented in daily prayer manner. One day it could from any of any religions, or a Saint, a poet, a world leader all of it is inspirational and used with permission of the person or the holder of copyright or whatever.Let me say this I did not realize at first what a wonderful gift this was, and now I make sure I keep it around me.

This book is absolutely breathtaking in its broad range of prayers. I have sent many prayers to many people who are suffering and it has helped. I am studying to be a chaplain and it will be a great resource as it has prayers from all different cultures. For my own personal use, it has been nurturing and provided me with coping skills when I am suffering. i got this from Melvin Books (?) and the service was more than outstanding. I've had it four days. I am still waiting for the same product, sent the same day, from another vendor. What a difference!

I really like the format - a prayer a day
I really like the format - a prayer a day. And the idea of a healing prayer a day it beautiful - read it in the morning to start the day or at the end of the day to put a wonderful healing kiss on everything before going to sleep.

Meh...will be donating
Was hoping for a better mix of secular quotes and poems from the description, but it’s a lot of religious (I definitely expected some which was fine) quotes, poems, and prayers which wasn’t what I wanted...and they’re not overly inspiring Or comforting to me personally.

The best there is!!
This is the most comforting and uplifting book I have on my shelves. I constantly return to it, when I really need to hear that voice to combat pain and suffering. There is always something just for the moment, even if you don't follow the days. But following the days is also good. i have bought this for family and friends and it is as loved by them as me. The best there is!!

A useful book of daily prayers
I try to start off every day with a prayer from this collection assembled from many faiths and peoples. I am particularly moved by the frequent calls to pay attention to the earth and all its creatures.
