Ok content, no e-book version available
contrary to what appears on the back of the (printed) book, there is no way to find the ebook version of it...content is OK, nothing extraordinary, but a good read to check the author's framework. Now, forget about being the greatest product manager, ever, thanks to this book. No book can make you be "the best, ever", only hard work, years of experience, self-awareness, highly insightful personality (that comes with age, in the best, most optimistic case) will bring up your best.

5 stars!
I got this book because I wanted to know more about the ESTEEM Method everyone was talking about. Lewis Lin is mostly known for the CIRCLES Method, so I was excited to learn more about his newest framework. The ESTEEM framework is the heart of this book. I like the thoughtful approach Lewis took to developing it. You can tell it's backed by a lot of experience and heart. Excited for his next framework.

Must have for program/product managers of all levels
While Lin's roots are in the high tech domain, I find his latest book to be applicable to all industries. This unique presentation is authentic because Lin presents distilled principles not contrived anecdotes. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to a second read.

Generalized advice, no real tangible useful information
The author did a poor job of clearly explaining some of his concepts in the book. He did define concepts, poorly, but then quickly moved on to another topic and then did the same thing.Example: When describing how NOT to start a new job, he says:"What to do instead? Observe, instead of judge. Don't complain about tools, processes, or co-workers. Instead, stay in the present. Get familiar with your new surroundings. Fit in, rather than stick out."Any examples to further explain? Nope, just moves on.Another example to demonstrate my point:When describing the Execution component of his convenient acronym, he introduces a russian nesting doll acronym, WARDD. Part of WARDD is to explain how PMs should show initiative. He poorly describes what that entails, with an excerpt:(When describing "Type 4: Do")"Type 4 does away with the intermediate step of getting bosses' permission. Bosses save time, mental effort, and the burden of decision-making. It's beautiful when a direct report simply does the right thing, and bosses can sit back and relax."And that's that. "do the right thing". Cool. I suppose he also tells people who are financially struggling to "just stop being poor".If you want generalized platitudes with no real explanation of new concepts or things you're not well-versed in, waste your money on this book. You can randomly reference one of his stupid acronyms or buzzwords if you feel like having an empty conversation with people to sound smart. I ended up having to pool other resources for better information.

Must have book for product managers
Developing your career as a product manager can be difficult. Lin’s book simplifies this complex navigation process. The book is extremely well written and full of useful PM resources. Lin begins by going in depth regarding the ESTEEM method; this framework is essential to PMs. Each component of the ESTEEM method is analyzed in an easy to divulge format. Navigating through the book is simple as it is separated into six vital steps. PMs of all levels can utilize this valuable tool in creating a dream PM career. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone in the field or those looking to begin.
