Exceeded expectations for the price
This is really good for tight areas. It isn't very heavy & this makes it manuverable. Given the price, the quality is overall good. The power is a little better than I expected. Starting was worse to begin with but was easier after it's warm. It's what I would expect of a 2 stroke because the gas must go thru the crank case before it gets to the piston. It's been used now more than an hour and so far, I would purchase again.

An essential for gardens of any size.
This product is a good value, easy to assemble, light weight, easy to use, powerful engine, and well written documentation. I bought this because the ancient front time tiller needed about the same money's worth of parts as just buying this. I thought I needed a bigger tiller but couldn't bring myself to spend so much on a big rear time tiller that won't fit between my rows and thus would only use once a year. I thought I'd give this one a try. I am very pleased with it so far. It was pretty easy to assemble. The only thing you putting together are the handle bars. I only needed scissors to cut packaging. The bars are attached with thumb screws making it not only quick to assemble, but portable as you can quickly collapse the handle bars for transportation. The tines are reversible for more aggressive tilling. It will just through grass and sod but it takes some time as this really wasn't intended to break unfilled soil, but I found it will do it just fine if your patient. I haven't tried reversing the tines yet to see if it makes a difference, but I'm betting it would. I just didn't need to as I was only breaking up an 8 ft strip. The store description AND Ardisam website tell you this tiller is not designed to break sod or compacted soil, and is recommended for previously tilled soil. That said I don't understand why there are complaints in the review section about this. It does what it says it does and then some. I've found mine will break up sod and compacted soil, but at a very slow pace. And that's fine. It has totally exceeded my expectations. I've filled for about 2 hours and only used 1/2 tank of 40:1 premix. It takes 50:1 per the manual, but I often run a higher oil to fuel mix on a new engine's first tank to help it break in better. The only teensy tiny quam I have is with the starting instructions. If you follow the instructions it can be kind of difficult to start. I've found if you follow the instructions but also give it about half throttle while cranking it usually starts on the first pull if not, the second. Overall I am very pleased with it. I was really expecting such and inexpensive machine to be this good. It's built well, nothing was off with the build, or fit and finish. It was packed extremely well. The owners literature is great. The instructions are clear and well written. There are good illustrations too. There is a handy supplement with replacement parts diagrams and part numbers. It was easy to put together. From unboxing to running was less than 20 minutes. It even came with a bottle of 2 cycle oil and fuel stabilizer. Using it is even better. It is light enough to pick up and put in the back of a car of truck easily. It has adjustable wheels that adjust pretty easily. You may have to knock some accumulated soil from the slide to get the wheels to lock back down but this isn't that big of an issue honestly. The engine is quite powerful for it's size. I tilled my 32 by 16 ft garden in no time. It's quite easy to maneuver. Just pick it up turn it when you get into tight spots. Most of the time it pivots easily around on the tines. The adjustable drag stake is really good at keeping it from jumping around when you snag a rough patch. I can't really think of anything that I would do to improve this little guy. I'm so pleased I just bought the edger attachment. TLDR: It's a lot of bang for your buck. It's built well. It's easy to use. Have realistic expectations and you will be pleased.

Powerful and works
I bought this tiller for a medium sized garden about 1/4 acre and initially worried it was too small for the job. I was way wrong. This is a powerful little tiller and it works like its name implies. It quakes the earth! It's not heavy and a true joy to use. Comes mostly put together with very easy to follow assembly instructions. You literally only have to install 4 wing nuts (with handy plastic extensions) to put the main handle bar on and then a few zip ties to keep the control cord secured to the handle bar. It's that easy. Obviously a quality made in the USA product. It even comes with enough two cycle oil to mix up your initial gallon of fuel. Do your equipment a favor and call around to find ethanol free gas! I tilled for about 2 hours to do an initial break in and it actually appeared to run better as I went. I actually look forward to finishing the job. Love this new tiller!

Very Poor Customer Service
This review is not for the product in its entirety, but more so for the poor treatment I received when trying to return this product after a defect in one of the components casting rendered it useless. Out of respect for the people who work at Ardisam Outdoor Equipment (the manufacturer/seller of this product, I will not use names. My experience with this company is as follows.I purchased this in May of 2022, and followed the assembly instructions and break in procedure for this piece of equipment. I have only used this for a total of three hours give or take and this does include breaking the engine in. It sees light use for weeding around plants in a 20x20 garden in light soil. The tiller itself is awesome for maneuverability and being light enough for people of all physical abilities to handle. Unfortunately it broke mid July (2 months of owning and again this tiller sees very minimal use) I contacted Amazon to see about returning this product. I did not want it any longer because of how it failed, I now question the quality of this product and don’t want to chance it with another one. Amazon’s instructions were to contact the seller directly because I was out of their 30 day return window. I contacted Ardisam through their customer service portal and left a polite email about my request for a refund. I was emailed the next day by a member of their support staff that instructed me to deal with Amazon, because Amazon has my money. This is a very poor business model if you sell a product and let someone else keep the money. Follow me for more tips lol. I emailed back and said I was instructed to contact them. I asked if there was someone I could speak to directly about the special circumstances for my request for not replacing or repairing the item and just wanting a refund. The member of the support team never emailed back. Now at this point it is important to note that I do not use fowl language or try to belittle people who are just doing their job. My email was polite and I always make sure to use my pleases and thank yous as a matter of respect for the other person. Since I was ignored I called the support number since it was during normal business hours for them. I listened to the rather long menu options and was finally connected with a member of the support team. This person refused to give me a name and was very rude and short with me over the phone. I was told that they do not issue refunds and if I didn’t want to go to their authorized service center for it to be repaired I was out of luck. And the conversation ended with that.So. In saying all of that, I want to say that I was very disappointed with how this whole situation was handled by the customer service members of Ardisam Outdoor Equipment. I will never buy your products again and I hope this helps people see that they will not be treated well by your company when they need to contact you in regards to concerns about their purchase.A side note- I want to thank Amazon Customer Care for working with me. They are awesome and they are working towards a solution to help out. Ardisam Customer Service I would rate you at Zero Stars if that were an option.
