I bought this windshield because I felt that the OEM windshield on my 2017 Versys LT ABS. just did not provide enough wind protection. Although adjustable, you can never seem to get it to do its job. (either protect you from the bugs and rain or shelter you from wind buffeting. This new windshield is quite a bit wider and taller and promises to do a much better job at protecting me from the elements.The original Windshield had rounded edges that give it the impression that it is much thicker than it truly is. In fact, between Kawasaki’s and this new one, there does not seem to be any difference in thickness throughout the body of the windshield.I would haver given this product 5 start (especially for the price) however, I had to enlarge the installation holes to accommodate the installation hardware that had to be re-used of the original windshield. (using a step drill and a drill press, I slowly had to bore out the holes to a 1/2inch diameter). Not cool. Maybe the manufacturer should make the holes bigger and provide bushings to accommodate older Versys’ (before 2017) that require smaller holes.Also; I would recommend asking a friend to assist in the installation (not mandatory but very helpful)(Hope this helps other perspective buyers... I will make an update once I have managed to test-drive it for a few 100KM. )
