It is like the Garden Flower Alphabet book but includes butterflies
It is like the Garden Flower Alphabet book, but includes butterflies as well as flowers. Though both are nice coloring books, of the two, this one would have to be the winner for me.I am really impressed with the amount of detail in the flowers and butterflies in this book. I like how the letter becomes part of each illustration rather than looking stuck in. Some flowers and random vines wind around the letters giving the feel they've been growing along with the letter or arranged that way realistically. The font choice is a basic serif type font but rather than being a distraction like one another alphabet book, this works to give visual relief from the detailed flowers. Also another nice touch is that this book includes tiny little hint thumbnails showing colored examples on the back of each cover. That way if you aren't anywhere you can or don't want to research up a photo of the actual butterfly or flower, you get a general guide using the book alone.I felt a bit sad researching some of the butterflies. At least two of them are extinct. It makes me a bit sad to think of insects being endangered or extinct, but it does make a bit of a learning experience. I guess perhaps that is why the letter "X" in this book seems to be given the most attention and detail out of all the other pages. (It includes a full background when all the other letters don't.)After the book gets past "Z" there are some really stunningly drawn out garden scenes. I wasn't expecting that.-----------------What could make this book better? If it were single sided vs, having an illustration on each side of the page. Also I noticed either my coloring style shifted or the paper happens to be slightly worse quality than the other books I colored. It was very unforgiving to wet media.- This particular book less water used in coloring, the better.Recommended (media I've tried):- crayon- soft to medium lead colored pencils. (examples: prismacolors, derwent coloursoft - Pablo, polychromos)- gel pens (test to make sure they don't bleed.)- markers (Faber Castell Pitt artist pens, Zig Brushables)---Techniques that work:- lightly color and gradually build layers. (colored pencil/ crayon) -Color with crayon first and then go over with marker - done right this is an amazing effect. Just watch out for smudges and let the marker dry before placing your hand over the page.---What doesn't work so well:-Watercolor paints or water color pencils. I noticed not only the usual buckling that I can tolerate, but this time seemed to shred the paper too.-Harder colored pencils. A light layer or few was okay, but when I got to heavier layers and wanted more pigment, this started tearing a hole in the page or weakening it.- markers used straight on the page without coloring over a layer of colored pencil or crayon. The risk is bleedthrough and possibly weakening the paper.Anyways I'll update this with a few colored examples. So far "C" is the one I've finished, but I have other pages close to finishing. This time I liked coloring the letters in various textures.

Love these books for ADULTS who love to color for relaxing.!
I got my first dover coloring book about 30 years ago and have been hooked. I now have a collection of about 20. They are kind of hard to find in retail and when you do the selection is poor.I find coloring to be very relaxing when you are stressed. I also cannot just watch tv I like to be doing crochet or cross stitching, coloring. These books are very well done as far as the drawings are concerned. They can be very intricate. Some are made more for children but many would be hard for a child under say 10yrs old to do and feel good about. They are best done with colored pencils as you can get really good at shading and make them really pretty.I highly recommend this and many others. I do own this specific book.

Personal letters to color for friends
The quality of this coloring book is very nice.I like to use my rose wood colored pencils with these pictures and my crayola metallic pencils for a special sheen.Just one negative comment---I wish each letter was on a single page with nothing on the back. I enjoy coloring theseLetters for friends(mostly children)to hang on a bedroom door or to slip in the clear front of a school notebook. WhenThe letters are on front and back it limits use for some of the letters.Overall I have really enjoyed coloring these letters intertwined with beautiful flowers, greenery and butterflies.

Lovely pictures to color
Lovely! Each page presents a butterfly with flowers over a letter of the alphabet. One of my favorite coloring books. Would have given it 5 stars but many of the butterflies are blackened in too much for my liking.

Great Quilt Illustrations
My granddaughter loves to color and she wanted to help me make a quilt. Since she is too young to tackle the entire quilt-making process but she's very neat at coloring, I had her color these illustrations using colored pencils. Then I ran off her colored pictures on printer-friendly fabric, added some embroidery, and made a lovely attic-window quilt. Besides being an attractive quilt, it gives her a great sense of accomplishment because her skill is so prominent in it.

Lovely Coloring Book
Lovely coloring book, perfect for anyone who enjoys coloring butterflies and flowers. The pages are smooth white paper which make it better suited for pencil colors instead of crayons.

adult colouring books
Not as good as I would have expected. The colours from the pens seep through to the ones on revers side. This gives a veryBad reproduction of the pages you have coloured and want to colour. Because of the paper quality this should have had better quality paper pages or not have back to back pages. Disappointed with this adult colouring book.

Really nice drawings
I love this book, it has very nice designs. I specially like that all the shadows are already highlited so i dont have to worry about them.

Underwhelming
Printed on 2 sides on white paper; not a problem if you color in pencil crayons. Designs are pretty, but not much of a challenge to color. Very disappointed that some of the butterflies are already colored solid black in ink---really? In a coloring book? Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose? The color samples printed inside the front and back covers are pretty. Not sure the real pictures will be. Okay book; definitely not my favorite; would probably not buy again unless for an inexperienced/challenged adult or a teen with a short attention span.
