I bought this hoop specifically for quilting. It covers a large area and was very easy to use and move around. I love it. It is a bit pricey so I thought long and hard before I made the purchase. Disappointed the "rulers" which I had to add are in metrics. I contacted the company and was told they are phasing out "inches" and only using metrics. Its not a major issue but it would have been nice to know this before I made the purchase.

I use these almost exclusively to hoop everything. The magnets are very strong and fabric is easy to position and reposition when machine embroidering borders.

I really like this magnetic hoop and it's such a breeze to use with my Babylock Embroidery/Sewing machine. I just have to get used to the strong magnet around the hoop, but I had no problem embroidering on a quilted piece that I was working on. I was amazed at how the embroidery foot had no problem stitching around the fabric, and the description of how I can move the fabric around without having to rehoop was GREAT. I have had to rehoop on other projects so much that I never thought that this item was always available. I am so glad that I purchased this magnetic hoop and plan or purchasing the 5x7 one later on. Thanks for such a good product.

Although a bit pricey this hoop works great for end to end quilting. Much faster to set up. Am seriously considering the 5x7 hoop next.

Makes hooping a quilt sandwitch so much easier! No more struggling and it holds while doing the embroidery through 2 layers with batting. My only regret is not purchasing sooner!

First, the packing was sufficient, magnets have extraordinary hold and the ruler tapes are easy to place. Unfortunately, it didn't fit my Innov-'is XV8500D in spite of being on the compatibility list. I got a warning that the hoop isnt supported.I'm incredibly disappointed to have to return it.Seller should update the compatibility list in the description. I'm giving a2 stars due to this mistake, however would have given a 5 if it functioned as advertised.
