Nice versatile kit
While I haven't explored all of this speedlight's features fully (e.g. radio control) my experience has been great so far, doesn't cost an arm and a leg, gets plenty bright and can effectively bounce lots of light or directly flash, HSS support adds great versatility. It'll take time to see how rugged and long lasting. The flash is packaged well, a minor gripe I have is the carrying case provided is a bit tight, the bounce card doesn't quite fit snug and bends a bit, but that's something easy to work around. Works great with my XH2. The actual light produced leaves nice skin tones and doesn't change the colour of the subject by much (if aimed and shot appropriately)Having a rechargeable battery is great, but it would be nice to have an option to throw in AAs for if you do get stuck and don't have a second charged battery. As far as I know there isn't an accessory for this.Overall I'm happy to overlook these and give it a 5/5, will update as it gets used more and if anything changes.

Poor man's Profoto A10.....in. A good way.
After having the opportunity to use a Profoto A10 I was instantly hooked, and wanted to purchase one......however, the flash comes at a heafty price, and when not using it much (most of my work is natural light) it is hard to justify the price tag.I contemplated this flash for a few weeks, which turned into months. But then I was talking to another photogruwho said they used the V1F. He said it was great and I that I wouldn't regret it.So I took the plunge, and so happy I did.The build quality is amazing, and the performance is near on-par with the A10. I am not such a fan of the controls on the V1F, but for the considerable price difference it is more than acceptable.....and it isn't bad, just not as good.I would recommend it to other professional photographers who want a great product, but can't justify the higher cost of the A10.

Very nearly as good as the big branded version
Nearly as good as the profoto version of the same speed light The main let down for me is that 9 times out of 10 when you install the battery the display backlight comes on but no text. You have to remove the battery & reinstall until it clicks & only then will the text appear !
