Prevention of heel breakdown
These were more than I expected. They prevented my brothers heels from breaking down. They stay on.Great soft but well built heel boots.

Fits securely on foot.
I purchased two for a relative that had developed some sores on the back of his heels. These fit securely and are comfortable. In fact, they are so comfortable that my relative continues to wear them even after the sores have disappeared. They are not fashionable but he is fairly confused most of the time and he does look cute in them. My only concern is that they are a bit slippery. If you are in a similar situation and your relative also decides to wear them 24/7, you may wish to invest in a no slip mat so he or she will not slip getting out of bed. Of course, if you have carpet you don't need to worry about that.

These are comfortable and for the most part, well-padded.
We purchased these for my 95 year old aunt, to cushion her feet while she is resting in bed. She doesn't move around on her own and stays in the same position for several hours at a time. They are extremely soft and well-cushioned. They seem to be working quite well, she's not had any more skin breakdown on her feet. There are two issues that could be addressed with the comfort of these. 1) They are a bit heavy. We were surprised at their weight.2) The edges of the straps that keep them in place on my aunt's feet are sharp and not cushioned at all. The edges are just the fabric edge; polyester, or whatever they are made of. They would be a bit safer as we are sliding them on and off of her feet, if the cushioning material wrapped around the edges of the straps. Other than those two issues, they are great!

BEST heel wound protection boot
This is THE ONE!The best, most comfortable and coolest boot you will find!My husband was in the hospital with Covid for over 3 months. During that time, he lost a leg because of a blood clot, and had pressure wounds from not moving. We are now 8 months since the madness started, and he has a wound on his heel that just doesn’t want to heal. We had 2 different inflatable boots that were never comfortable, and both got holes that we could not seal. That was over $100 wasted on inflatable boots. We decided to try 2 more… This boot and another with a lining. The one with the lining was very hot and uncomfortable. He could not keep it on longer than an hour. Then we tried this boot. It looks like an inflatable, but is plastic covered foam. There is an opening at the heal so there is ZERO pressure on his heel at all. The way it is made, it actually surrounds the foot without putting pressure anywhere on the heel or bottom of the foot.Since he started wearing this boot, his heel is finally looking better and we hope to see it healed in the next month or two.

Very poor design
I bought this to help with severe tendonitis in the achilles tendon which is very painful when anything touches it. Not a good choice. First, the soft material covering the boot is everywhere except the heel area. That area is padded with some sort of hard stiff foam that is covered with a slick, not soft and fuzzy material. It is the only area of the entire boot that is not soft, and in addition, there is a seam right where the heel should sit in the boot that cuts into the heel if it is tender. But the heel does not sit there; the foot slides forward and out the front of the boot because the straps are useless. They are held in place by flexible ribbons with too much give and the velcro straps cannot be tightened enough to keep the foot in place. I read other reviews that mentioned the foot hanging off the front of the boot, but I thought the person just had a big foot. I do not. It slides out the front no matter what you do. There is a hole in the back that the heel is supposed to rest in, but since it slides forward, the hole has no function and the heel sits inside the boot and slides/rubs with every step. Plus it is really hot! I cannot keep it on for more than a few minutes or my entire foot gets too hot. There is a gel pack that you can heat/cool with, but it just adds more bulk to the back of the heel area and causes more pressure and more pain. I thought a company with as many ortho products as this one would know how to design something that works, but I was very wrong. Wasted money and still in pain. I unfortunately threw away the wrapping and box when I got the boot, so can't return it. Don't make the mistake I did.

Mixed review
I initially loved this product. I got it to use while sitting up in my wheelchair, to help heal up a pressure sore on my heel. Within 3 days, the sore was looking much better. The boot is a bit bulky, but who cares as long as it is effective. Anyway I quit using after 3 days, when I discovered that it formed them broken a fairly large blister about an inch above where the pressure sore is!! I still haven't figured out how it did that! Nothing had fallen in the boot, so it had to be something about the boot, but I didn't ever figure out exactly what the problem was. I'm keeping the boot and may try using it again, perhaps with a thick wool sock to protect against any friction from the boot itself. I had used it with thin compression-style socks. So ... bottom line, it helped my pressure sore, but created a secondary problem in my case. The blister sore has now healed, but the pressure sore is better but not yet gone. If I try the boot again to finish in the pressure sore healing process, I will be very watchful to check skin condition often in non-targeted areas where the boot makes contact.

Great product! Worth the money!
My mom has Alzheimer’s Disease, and I take care of her. Her mobility is getting worse. I noticed 2 big blisters on her heels caused by pressure from the bed. One popped and it’s now a stage 2 pressure ulcer. I took her to her podiatrist and I have supplies for dressings. I ordered these boots to relieve the pressure on her heels while she is in bed, and I’m very glad I ordered these. It’s a very comfortable soft material. They are made well. I really like that there are holes where the heels are because you can feel they are elevated and not touching anything. It also makes it easier to check the foot is in the right position in the boot. My mom says they are comfortable and I’m hoping with time, the blister and ulcer will heal.

If you have large feet over size 10 get the bigger boot
A very well made product with lots of padding. Easy to clean with just some soap, water and a cloth.Protects not just the heel but the side and underside as well.Just follow the fitting guidelines and you’ll be ok.. I wish I had gotten the larger size .

Does the job.
My husband had a pressure sore on his heal and the doctor recommended this boot. We couldn't find one at any supply store but the one on Amazon arrived quickly and was prices lower than one we had purchased about 5 years ago for a similar problem. Overall does the job.

Best thing we found so far
My aunt had this big heavy boot on they gave her from the hospital and we were looking for something light weight. Well this is perfect. Light weight and doesn’t make your foot sweat
