Lens looks brand new.
I recently moved up from a D200 DX to a D780 FX. I was using my 17-55 DX f2.8 and 18-200 DX lens on my FX camera with a loss of megapixels. The price of this renewed lens is 60% off from a new lens. Also, Amazon financed it for 12 months at zero interest. The 24-120 f4 looks brand new. I will be leaving for Hawaii in two days and this should be an excellent travel lens. I may buy the 24-70 f2.8 renewed from Amazon when I return from vacation.

I'm glad I went with this
I was considering this or the 24-70 for a long time. I'm glad I went with this. The 24-70 is no doubt a gem. But this has a longer reach, VR and is about a third of the price refurbished. I used it in Norway and Sweden for my test run. It's colors are incredible. This made me sell my tokina and upgrade to Nikon wide angle just based on the colors, autofocus speed alone. This lens was leaps and bounds ahead of my tokina for night time colors, and the general landscape colors. This lens has beautiful bokeh and I don't find a great difference between f4 and f2.8, which helps the decision to go with this one more. Yes there's a stop difference but with some iso modulation it may be fixable in camera or in post. I will say the autofocus speed is incredible to what I've used in the past. This is in my camera almost all the time. I have an old 70-300 that I want to upgrade to Nikon based on the f4 series lenses. I really recommend this if you're looking for an upgrade to a kit lens or considering the 24-70 and having trouble justifying the price like I was.

Good Lens for Full Frame High Resolution Camera
I was reluctant to buy a refurbished lens but I have had my eye on this Nano Crystal Nikon lens for some time. I have the older version of this lens and it doesn't do well on my high resolution Nikon D800, e.g. soft focus. However, the older version of this lens does work well with my Nikon D700 which is lower resolution. With those facts in mind I wanted to get this lens for my D800 and I am glad I made the purchase. The lens works perfectly with the D800 and I recently tested it on a photo shoot in the Palouse and he images are tack sharp. Now this lens lives on my D800 and the older version of this lens lives on the D700.So far I really like this lens and I will update this review if my opinion changes.

It is ok, not great.
It is ok, not great. I purchased the refurbished version for around half the price of a new one. I should say that I have no issue with refurbished stuff from Nikon or Canon, in my experience they are like new. With that said, I would absolutely not pay new price (over $1000) for this lens. I am even a bit disappointed with the price I paid and somewhat wish I would have just put the money towards a Tamron 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 combo. In the past the third party lenses were most often sub par, but now it seems that has changed. If you really think you want/need this zoom range and you do not care so much about the quality/sharpness of your photos, or if you are lucky and get a sharper copy than mine, then this lens might be great for you. :)Pros:The zoom range is nice (but you sacrifice image quality to get it)The VR (vibration reduction - image stabilization) works wellComes with lens hoodCons:Large and heavyLess than impressive image qualityPoor value if you pay new priceMy camera is a D750Some might say I need to do micro adjust on the focus, I have checked the focus and it is right on. I have owned quite a few different lenses and cameras over the years so I am not a newbie.

Fantastic deal on a very good lens
This factory refurbished lens looks and functions like it is brand new at a 50% cost savings. What a deal! Lens hood was missing but vendor (Cameta Camera) shipped one out so all is fine.I intended on using just prime lenses with my D810, but needed a single lens "solution" for travel. This lens is reasonably distortion free (much better than the DX-equivalent 16-85 Nikkor I used with my former Nikon camera) and has minimal and correctable CA. Autofocus is fast and the VR has allowed me to shoot down to 1/15 at 120mm. Lens stays sharp even when wide open. This is the best zoom lens I've ever bought for the price, but I'm not selling my primes.

Great lens, showed up with some dust spots and ...
Great lens, showed up with some dust spots and had to get it cleaned. A little more vignetting that I'd prefer but nothing that can't be fixed with a quick edit. Other then that, came in great condition and works great and produces nice pictures.

Great lens at a very competitive price.
Great lens at a great price. It was refurbished and arrived in perfect conditions. Works flawlessly and does its job nicely. It's pretty sharp and with low vignetting. The VR is great -- I took hand-held pictures at 1/10 and they were perfect, despite the considerable weight of lens+DSRL (a D600 in my case). I will sell the 24-85 lens that came with the camera. The 24-120 is an excellent travel lens: one doesn't need to bring other lens along (well, maybe just a light, fast 1.4 prime for night shots).

An Excellent Portrait Lens!
If you are a portrait photographer using a full-frame-sensor camera, you need to be using a lens with a focal length of no less than 105mm, if you want a professional look. My old workhorse was a Tamron 28-105 f2.8 which is quite sharp and very versatile. Replacing it with this Nikkor lens which though only opens to f4, I have an even sharper lens that is more compact, more versatile and has vibration reduction if I should need it. 24-120 is a terrific range for portraiture, and will make a great travel lens as well. I am pleased as punch with this purchase.
