Skunk2 intake manifold for 7th gen Accord NOT compatible w/ 06 Accord 4 cylinder
At first I was very excited to to get this - I had been watching it for some time, and I wanted to upgrade the intake manifold for my 06 Honda Accord 4 cylinder. Amazon showed this was compatible with my car. Unfortunately this isn't the case. The issue is, it doesn't line up correctly with the oem throttle body. I actually would have gotten a throttle body from Skunk2 to match up with the manifold, but I couldn't find anything from Skunk2 that showed as being compatible with my car. I didn't think that would be an issue though since this manifold was shown to be compatible with my car, and said nothing about requiring any modifications or other parts to work. How did I discover that the manifold wouldn't work? I had purchased a Honda OEM throttle body gasket to replace the original, since the shop I used recommended a new throttle body gasket to ensure a proper seal between the throttle body and the manifold. After getting the gasket, I tried to line it up with the Skunk2 manifold, but the holes for the bolts didn't line up - which means the oem throttle body also would not have lined up correctly. I'm just glad I discovered this before taking my car to a shop and wasting money to try to have them install a part that wouldn't have worked. What I'm probably going to do is get an intake manifold from an 06-08 Acura TSX, since from what I understand, it will still result in better performance - and it's about a third the price of the Skunk2 manifold. It's too bad because I really wanted this part to work...
