Just spent a week in the Olympic Peninsula rainforests and hiked around in rainstorms for several days. This jacket kept me dry the entire time! I am very impressed. It's also very lightweight and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

I bought this because I was looking for a jacket that would double as a raincoat or a windbreaker to wear in the cooler spring / fall months as well as the summer months and this jacket fits that requirement perfectly. This Jacket is good looking, seemingly well made, sheds rain perfectly, not too noisy, and not too bulky. Since receiving the jacket it has kept me warm and dry on several rainy days and I have gotten several comments on how good it looks. I can't imagine finding something much better than this without spending well over $100 so for the price I certainly recommend this jacket. Word of advice, I would heed the recommendations of many of the reviewers here and look at buying a size larger than normal. I am 6' 2" and 210 lbs and an XL normally fits me very well. However, I went ahead and ordered a 2X and I am glad i did because the 2X in this jacket fits me great and leaves just enough room to layer a sweatshirt or a fleece vest underneath for warmth if needed. If no additional layering underneath is needed this jacket has just enough room to allow an unimpeded golf swing. If you are looking for a good rain jacket / windbreaker without having to shell out enough dough for a weeks worth of groceries then I highly recommend this jacket.

Love this jacket. A couple of notes: 1) I hate the cold rain...would take a blizzard over the cold rain and 2) I over-research everything I buy.I looked at many different rain coats from Marmot, Patagonia, North Face, Columbia, Outdoor Research, etc... and as far as value goes, this one runs away with it hands down. This jacket is breathable so you don't feel like you are wearing a rubber sauna suit and will keep you dry and comfortable in those cold 40 degree rains. I wear an XL but went with the 2XL with the thought of wearing a sweatshirt or something underneath but it isn't necessary. I think I would have been fine with the XL even with multiple layers underneath.I would buy this again without hesitation especially at the price point on Amazon.

I have been a Boy Scout volunteer and backpacker since 1979. My favorite coat is a Marmot Mountain Parka. It is great overall, but a little too much for backpacking. This jacket is a very good compromise between light weight and good construction. If you intend to stand around in the pouring rain, consider Frogg Toggs or the vinyl junk that they sell at Walmart. If you want to be able to move in the rain, this jacket is a very good choice.

Fits well over a hoodie and layers. Big storm coming and working outside so I will see how well the jacket does. Feel nice.
