Best self tanner wver
This lotion does not make dark spots so obvious as many other tanners do. I’ve used this tanner for years and am saddened that it’s been discontinued. Why would neutrogena take this away when, according to reviews, it widely popular. There’s one tube on Amazon for $77!!!??? WTH. That’s robbery.I’m so disappointed in neutrogena.

Less Instant Gratification, More Control
As an older person (looking to minimize further sun damage) and a first-time user of a sunless tanning product, I am happy to recommend this product. That said, potential customers looking for quick, dramatic results should probably direct their attention elsewhere. That's because Neutragena's sales pitch, "Build-a-Tan, Gradual Sunless Tanner," is entirely accurate. I found that it took four applications over eight days to achieve what I consider a medium-shade tan on my legs (I did not apply the product anywhere else on my body). The slow, gradual buildup of pigment, in my opinion, allows for greater control and more subtle, less blatantly artificial results. Although I purchased an application mitten, I found that applying the lotion by hand allowed for a more smooth, even distribution of the product (I washed my hands thoroughly after each application and experienced no staining). The product dried quickly, did not streak, and did not rub off on clothes and bedding during these early applications. The lotion has a light fragrance that I've been told is common to sunless tanners, but it dissipates significantly over a few hours. Update: after two weeks usage--Regret to report that after 15 days and six applications, I'm noticing that the product does, in fact, rub off onto my bath towels after I shower. Ditto when I towel off after heavy, sweaty exercise. My white towels are showing the telltale stains (they wash out when laundered). Could be this is common to other sunless tanning products. I've stopped using the product. Just a few words of warning.

Worked but caused acne
Loved the scent and added a nice soft glow, but could not use it frequently because it made me break out. My skin is only sensitive to certain things and this is one of them.

Have used for 3-4 years since it came out!
Best tanner ever! Walmart has dropped it and you cannot find it anywhere! I found a 3 pack reasonably priced and bought it from amazon! Now these 3rd party sellers on amazon are asking like $45.00 for a tube! Come on in this ecomany no one can afford that! Bummer!

The only tan-in-a-can that doesn't break out my face and still looks natural
I can't help it - I like having a tan. I know that my maturing (shudder) skin does not like broiling in the sun and I really try to limit my sunbathing much more these days. So I rely on tan-in-a-can to get some nice color to my skin. This Neutrogena is the only one that I use on my face because it won't make me break out. For that reason, I only use it on my face, but do a different self-tanner on my body (some Bodhi Sands brown foam one that looks like poo-in-a-can.) The Neutrogena one doesn't have the best scent; however, I can put it on my face in the morning, finish getting dressed, and then do my make-up with no problems at all. (i.e., it absorbs quickly!)

It’s streaky
I’ve bought this brand in the past. It’s always given me a nice even tan. This tube did not.

I use this product year round
I had a hard time finding this at the store right now. I use this product when I want to have a little but of color on my legs. You will apply like a lotion, making sure to rub it in very well. Then wash your hands well, so your palms are not orangeish. I personally apply 2 days to achieve the light brown look of a tan. There is really not much of a scent. It will take 4 or 5 hours to start noticing color and more so the next day. If you want for it to be darker just re-apply over a few days until you achieve the color you want. I try and make sure that I do not apply a lot around my knees or ankles. Hope this information helps someone.
