I have had the smaller version (9 cans) of this cooler for over 5 years. Wanted to upgrade to a larger size so purchased this Koolatron Fridge. When it was delivered plugged it in and it didn't work. Called Koolatron and they were no help, but AMAZON was great, just filled out the online form and before I could call Amazon, another was overnight shipped to me.. it was GREAT. Thanks Amazon. Love the customer service and online forms. Will continue to buy merchandise from them. Will continue to tell friends and family how good the service is.

I tested out 2 of these, and both may have gotten down to about 38 degrees Fahrenheit (in a 70 degree room). Really can't complain too much...the manual says it'll go down to 36 degrees. I haven't tested out it's warming capabilities though. It's not bad for a 40 watt cooling machine...I was just kinda hoping it would go down to about 32 or 34 degrees Fahrenheit. Usually within a 2 day use the cooling vent will start to freeze up a little - so I turn the machine off for about 30 minutes to defrost it (no big deal). What won me over is it's looks & features - window door, digital display, inside light, and size & design. On the both that I tested the digital display goes a little haywire sometimes, but then usually corrects itself.

Am in Africa with military so was wooried about shipping and some of the negative comments. Received in about 1 week in great condition, Side decals have red/round Coke logo and door has lots of coke logo's on it so not as pictured but looks good. Actually beter than what is shown. I read directions (said nothing about precooling, start run for awhile unplug and start again as some have written) and plugged in Power supply does get warm but not hot) and came right on. I live in small room so was concerned about reports about brightness of lights, noise, heat etc. Lights seem normal low like are on desk clock, etc. Have not noticed at all. I have not noticed noise at all and have not placed on wisper yet. It does keep cola, water, etc about 30deg below what ever room temp is. Blue interior light really adds to looks. For me it was a great value for the money. If your looking for a high end piece for a fancy pool room this is not it, but for dorms, offices, kids rooms, etc it is great. Comes with 12V adapter so do not order extra. I have only written about 3 reviews in my life that is how pleased I am with what the product is for the price.

...I'm at a loss as to why you keep allowing this item to be sold on Amazon! I love shopping Amazon and have a great deal of respect for you but...when you see how many people have had these things quit working after such a short time! When more than twice as many people give this 1 star than give it 5 something is very wrong! Allowing this product to be sold is soiling your reputation! Not only is the product still being sold but the price is rising as well. As a loyal Amazon customer I would hope you would be watching out for me a little better than this.I'm another who was taken by this product, although most had longer use than I did! It worked great for a couple months but then I noticed it wasn't keeping things as cold, then it started flashing and went totally out! I would feel even worse about this if I had payed the price they're asking now, I only had to pay $119.00 for mine. Sure is neat looking...but that's all it's good for now! This thing should be recalled since so many have been ripped off!If you buy this you will be sorry...kiss your money good bye! Unless you're into decorations! Still it's an expensive decoration.**************************************UPDATE*********************************I have tried two different 12 volt power supply's and it appears to run for a minute or two then it burns up the power supply's...now I'm out an additional $40.00....I'm really bummed about this product!

First off, I know this is not a true "refrigerator" but a thermo-electric cooler. If all you are using this for is to have ice cold drinks in a near room temperature room, this is perfectly fine.I bought this fridge specifically to keep drinks cold in my media room. The room temperature is around 74-78 Fahrenheit throughout the day, and this fridge has no problem keeping 28 cans at 37-41 degrees F. It is even able to do this in its whisper quiet mode(low fan speed). The initial cool-down of the 28 cans took a good 8 hours, but afterward it didn't budge from ~40f even after adding a few warm cans, which is great. The walls also do a good job insulating the fridge to my surprise.The build quality of the frame is pretty decent. The red plastic actually looks pretty nice and not cheap like I thought. It looks much classier and is a more attractive addition than just your standard mini-fridge (thus the price premium). The radiator and fan in the back are enclosed by a another thinner piece of plastic but it seems fine. The four buttons on the front glow a fairly bright blue color as does the LCD...this may be annoying to some people as the only way to shut off the lights is to shut off the entire unit (cooling and all), but this doesn't bother me too much. The first button is the master power on and off. The middle two buttons adjust the set temperature from 2-60 Celsius (about 35-140 Fahrenheit). The last button on the right turns on a small light inside that casts a nice looking glow across the cans...it illuminates the window nicely. The LCD screen reports the temperature inside the fridge at all times unless you adjust the temperature, at which point it shows you what the target temp is.For the first few days I really loved the fridge, but I woke up one day and the LCD was reporting 54 degrees Celsius (129 Fahrenheit) for the cooler temperature. I opened the fridge and found everything still very cold like normal. It turns out the LCD screen just went crazy. It just kept reporting random temperatures from 30 - 65 Celsius. I'm guessing it was just a bad temperature sensor as the unit was still cooling fine. I notified Amazon and they immediately shipped me a replacement and scheduled a UPS pickup of my old one at no charge. I couldn't ask for better service than that. Overall, I love the fridge...just a little disappointed that I need to exchange it. Overall, I think it's a great product and makes a great addition to my theater room.*******************UPDATE 11/23/2012***************Well about 3 months ago (or about 2 years after purchase) the unit died and no longer turns on. Thankfully I bought a square-trade warranty for it and they refunded me the full purchase price! All of these little refrigerators die at some point it seems, so if you do decide to get it, get the twenty dollar warranty so you are prepared when it does finally break...
