Wilton Icing Colour 8 Set and Wilton White White

I have bought Wilton food colouring in the past which is very good, you only have to use little to get your desired colour but this particular one is not thick enough and you have to add a lot to your fondant which makes it soft and difficult to use especially colour black and red.

Originally I was super super apprehensive about buying this colouring as I needed it to make butter icing white. I did ask fellow customers how it may be and it was 50/50... HOWEVER my daughters birthday cake came out amazing!! The colouring didn’t change the taste of the cake or icing at all!

There aren't any flavours,but amazing colours, only need to use a tiny bit.

Received a bit of spotting when used in buttercream. A lot of the white colouring needs to be added for it to colour the buttercream. Haven’t yet tested on cakes.

All good except the black didnt go very black, more like grey. The rest were all good.

I tried using these to make macarons and the colour is terrible. By the time you have used enough colouring to see a noticeable difference, the batter is too wet to actually do anything with it. The purple came out grey and the royal blue was more of a turquoise. I'll try them again in some different cakes to see if it's any better as I don't really want to waste them, but I would not recommend for use in macarons 👍

So happy with these. Especially the white one that you don't normally get and have to purchase separately. Nice thick - gel consistency. Beautiful richness of colour. Notchanging flavours . Can't praise them enough. Perfect!!!
