Q: I am interested in this camara, but the thing that stops me buying is the mic lead that tends to be doggy, I have seen many complaints about this.

Don't buy from this company. I return a faulty camera and they have yet to replace or refund it months later. They don't respond to emails and lie about 'lost' deliveries. I've lost £150. AVOID

If it is connected to a power source it will run as a recorder. If it will run on a 12v connection I am not sure. (If a car socket is 12v then yes) We use ours in the car with an adapter in the cigarette socket so we can plug in the usb lead supplied with the camera. Hope this helps.

Q: My camera is new and the lens rotates no problem but why do you want to rotate it

I sometimes use mine as a dash cam in my car, I rotate the lens so that the arrow points upwards so that the recording is correctly orientated. I then rotate it back when used as an helmet cam. The rotation function enables you to ensure the orientation of the recording is correct, always make sure that the arrow is pointing upwards.
