Rick Steves French Phrase Book & Dictionary (Rick Steves Travel Guide)

This is the perfect-sized reference book to take on vacation. It is extremely user-friendly, sectioned off with all the essential language hints to help one communicate effectively while in France. I liked it so much that I ended up ordering another one to give as a gift.

This book is extensive and a small "pocket' size, perfect for travel. The book is approximately 5 1/2 inches tall and 4 inches wide, about 1 inch thick.

Best small French phrase book I could find. Very well organized, like all his books. Contains color coded chapters. Nice quality paper.

I bought this for a friend but I read through it before I gave it to him. Thought it was well organized and I loved some of Rick's tips.You're never gonna learn the whole French language for a one time trip. But with this book you can master some important phrases and it is small enough to travel so that once you're there you could find some you didn't know you needed.

I wanted a simple book to help me when we go to Paris this spring. Many years agoI studied French in High School. But that was a long time ago. Rick Steves book will help me with simple phrases to enhance my stay in France.

French people aren’t always appreciative of Americans struggling w pronunciation of language. They eliminate ne IE je sais pas not je ne sais pas. They don’t use nous(we) but On ie On va a.. not nous allons. But had fire lost my copy and made error ordering two. Free book anyone. Too much hassle to return. Dr B

This book was great for not only basic phrases to help navigate your trip, but also great for understanding the culture!! As Rick stated in the book, the French are big on politeness! We got on good footing with every French-person we interacted with because we were polite with introductions, compared to other Americans. We learned through this book, the French get a kick out of Americans who *attempt* to speak French. They loved hearing us try and would often laugh and answer/continue the conversation in English. They merely appreciated our attempts! It was a great book and I would definitely recommend!

Good size. Got me around France. I didn’t learn everything in this book so it’ll have some longevity with me.
