OtterBoxDefender Series Case for HTC One M9 - Retail Packaging - Causal Blue

Bought this for my wife's M9, as she finally upgraded from an old iPhone 4 with the awesome sharkeye case. She said she MUST have a case like the sharkeye (which, unfortunately, they don't make anymore or for any phones other than the iPhone 3 and 4). So the hunt was on to find something remotely close.My first stop, thus far, is the OtterBox Defender. She loves the color, and got used to the crappy plastic screen protector. I used a tempered glass protector on the phone already, but the Defender has a really annoying plastic screen protector built into the inner case (the hard plastic top half). While this might be OK if one has no other screen protection, it is just annoying for one who has come to appreciate the smooth, velvety feel of a tempered glass protector. The plastic feels "rubbery' to me, and is not ON the phone screen (even with a tempered glass protector) but instead stands off the screen a tiny bit, so when you press or slide your finger(s), you must really press hard to push the plastic down that last 1-2mm to make contact with the phone's screen. For me, it is annoying, for her, she said she just got used to it.The protection is good, she's dropped it a couple times, but then again, I've dropped my LG V10 (much larger, heavier phone) and all it has is a minimal Spigen case and tempered glass. Plus I am a foot taller. So I don't know, yes the Defender protected the phone, but is it over kill? And the M9 is such a beautiful phone (the light gold / champagne whatever color) but that is all hidden behind cheap plastic and rubber.It works, it's bulky, it's ugly. It keeps ports and buttons sealed (if you have greasy or dirty hands this would be ideal!) and it does fit the phone body well (apart from the stand off of the plastic screen protector). I wanted to cut the plastic screen protector out, but the wife would not let me, and it's her phone. Enjoy!I recommend this if you really need to cover your phone up and just do not trust the build quality of HTC (which is very high, btw), and you do not care that you are "hiding" one of the best looking cellphones out there.

I got the defender case for my new HTC One M9 and so far it's wonderful. As everyone else has stated, the built in screen protector is junk. It may work fine for some phones, but I had already ordered the G Glass screen protector. I tried the built in protector out but there was a small gap between it and the phone screen, so I took a razor blade and "popped" it out by sliding it all the way around and breaking it loose from the glue that held it to the gray hard case. I love the blue rubber case, it's great and my hand really grips it. I've dropped my phone MANY times since I put it in here and it has fared VERY well. I give this case 5 stars, it's just they really shouldn't add the built in screen protector unless you ask for it. I'd buy it again though, the blue case is very easy on the eyes. And for ~$5 you can't beat it. I had a problem with it being so cheap it was considered an "add-on item". They wouldn't let me order it unless I ordered at least $25 worth of other stuff. I find that ridiculous, I'd have been willing to pay extra shipping just to get the case by itself. I addressed this with Amazon and they gave me a $20 courtesy credit, so all is well. The seller was great, case came very quickly and have had no problems thus far. Great case!!!

My HTC One M9 has survived exceptionally well due to this very product. I purchased the first one through vzw when I first got it. Dropped it about ~23 times. No damage has ever occurred. I loved it so much that I decided I needed another. (2 other cases I bought didn't last and broke easily) The Defender case is the only case I'll ever buy from now on for any of my devices. Pair this with a tempered glass and you have zero worries.Thankyou Otterbox for these amazing products.After a year or so, the rubber gets loose from so much opening and closing the flap foe the charger and headphones. I believe this somewhat weakens it and eventually that corner breaks.I've gone through three colors on the Defender series for my HTC ONE M9. Currently sporting the grey and white version. Yes. I still use one. It'll be 4 years of hard use in April of 2019. Works just as it should now, and it should survive until then. These cases have allowed me to not worry about accidental drops.Once I do eventually get another phone, and I know I've said this before, I'll buy an Otterbox case for it as well.Update: 06/01/2020 I still have the HTC One M9. Just bought a new case for it again. 4th or 5th otterbox I've had for it. Every time it's a better price. Aha! Totally worth the investment.

The only thing I dislike about the case is the screen protector has cut outs for speakers and front camera witch allows all sorts of dust an debris to get stuck in between the phone screen and the cases screen protector

Otterbox es una gran marca que cuida mucho los detalles de sus artículos, este estuche no es la excepción, está construido en materiales de muy buena resistencia y de buena estética. El clip que incluye lo convierte en un accesorio muy práctico, en mi caso, uso el celular para ver videos y con el clip puedo colocar el teléfono en una posición en la que es cómoda la vista. Recomiendo mucho este protector!

This was obviously a "second" as the plastic surround was reversed so that the connection port openings didn't line up on the bottom (but did on the top) with my device.Fortunately my original Otter Box plastic surround for my HTC phone was still in good shape long after the rubber bumper that goes around the plastic surround had worn and stretched out.I used the old one with the new rubber and screen protector.

The "casual blue" phone case photo looks like a nice dusty navy colour but the one they sent me is an ugly bright blue that I'm not that jazzed about carrying around. Also the screen protector makes it way harder to touch/swipe on the screen. It protects the phone from fall impact but that's about it.
