We got this to use for my 4yr old Autistic son who is in Speech Therapy. We're trying to teach him prepositional phrases and he/she distinction. This toy is PERFECT for learning/ teaching! I actually saw it through a social media add and went looking for it online because I knew it would be perfect. Other reviews have said the animals and objects get damaged from being too flimsy/ not sturdy enough and that the bottoms get damaged and I will say we've had similar experiences at first. Simply telling my son to be careful and gentle has lessened the abuse the corners were getting so it's not as if the objects are ruined like other reviewers have led on... Just tell the children to be careful since an adult should be sitting with them anyway! The base is a thick, sturdy wood composite with slots running the length of it. We've had no issues with the edges being too sharp or brittle etc as all the cuts and corners seemed to have been sanded and rounded off. I even made my own different animals to add a "Does a penguin live in a barn?" and then my son answers "No!" and we remove the penguin etc. It really is a great concept and you can use it in many different ways. Our son's Speech Therapist LOVED it! She was really excited we found it for him!

The product is a great idea, we have just found that when working with young students it is hard for them to fit the pieces in the wood slots. The cardboard pieces are a little curved and don't go in easily.

I use these in speech therapy sessions with the children that I work with. They enjoy the activity.
