The Perfect Harness
The media could not be loaded. I scoured Amazon and read a lot of reviews before choosing to buy this harness for my black lab pup who, at the time, was about 6 months old. (She's now 8 months at the time of recording the video.)This harness has a good width and ample padding so it doesn't dig into my dog's body. I just slide it over her head, click the buckle in on each side, and she's ready to go! (Just remember, the ThinkPet logo goes on top. My husband once tried putting it on the dog upside-down and it was ridiculous. But wait, it gets better...)Note that there's a red clip on each buckle so you can LOCK them closed. The buckles are high-quality and I don't know why they'd need locking mechanisms, but they're there. (I think they might be for strapping your dog into a car seat--I don't have a car seat and I'd never strap my dog inside one, so I just ignore the sliding red locks.) HOWEVER, the red locks CAN accidentally slide into the locked position, and if you have a squirrelly hyper pup (like mine was at first), you might panic and think your fur baby is trapped inside the harness FOREVER. (I once walked into the kitchen and found my husband with the harness on the dog proper-side up, but he had a steak knife and was ready to RESCUE THE DOG FROM THE HARNESS. Seriously.)I pounced and wailed something like, "Stop! I just bought that!"I took away the knife and showed him that the buckles have red sliding locks that, with a gentle nudge, can allow a human to unlock and open the buckles with ease.In addition to the fact that this harness looks quite comfortable compared to others, I liked the fact that it has a hook for a leash on the chest as well as the back. My pup was dragging me along as she choked herself to death when walking with just a collar. A harness with a chest-hook would supposedly get my dog to turn around and stop dragging me. (This DID NOT work for my dog! When the leash was attached to the front hook, she whirled around like a Tasmanian devil and played tug-of-war with the leash, dragging me down a mountain. I reattached the leash to the BACK hook and had much better results: she faced forward while dragging me along, but the important thing is that she wasn't going to choke and hurt herself.)END GAME: This harness is fantastic if you put it on your dog correctly and understand how to use buckles! Puppies and dogs need to be trained to walk on a leash, and I'm a firm believer in using a harness to accomplish this. It's not going to allow a pet to choke and possibly damage their windpipe when they pull. (And I've never seen a puppy that didn't excitedly try to drag their human along on an adventure!)My lab has ran, rolled around in, and swam in this harness. It has survived many adventures with dirt and mud, and even though I've never washed it, it's remained mysteriously clean and odor-free.Finally, the reflective strips that go around the trim of the harness work great to keep my dog safe when walking in the dark. The gleam of light that comes off of the harness has helped me locate my girl when she's running wild during the night. If you're looking for a high-quality harness that's comfortable, easy-to-use, looks great, and can handle the adventures of a rough and tumble dog (or a demure fluff ball), this is a great choice! If my lab outgrows this one, I'm not going to buy anything other than the next size up in this exact same style of a ThinkPet harness.

Really sturdy and highly reflective!
MY DOG AND SIZING:I got my puppy suddenly and just bought him a cheap harness at first until I had time to research them and get him a better one. I ended up settling on this as the better one. He is a beagle mix, about 12-14 weeks old, and under 20 lbs. The small fits him well on a tight setting with plenty of room to grow! He might need the medium by the time he is an adult, but the small might work for that as well. It seems a bit too long for him, but I think he will grow into it nicely.COLOR AND SAFETY:I was a little bummed that the orange harness in the picture looks like a beautiful rusty fall color but in reality it is more of a neon/construction/safety cone orange. Though neon is better for visibility so I guess that's good. Speaking of visibility, the reflective piping on this really works well! I included two pictures I took of him at night in a dark room with the flash on, so I don't think anyone will have a hard time seeing him in their headlights at night.COMFORT AND DURABILITY:The fabric is very stiff and thick, which seems to really aid in the durability department. I've also already had to use the handle several times to pick him up suddenly when he is eating something off the sidewalk that he shouldn't be, like for example, a full cigarette >.< I wouldn't recommend picking them up by the handle unless it is an emergency, but it does help when puppies are getting into something dangerous or if you have a big dog that is jumping or lunging. However, the super thick fabric isn't very breathable and doesn't seem super comfortable. He hasn't fought it or tried to get it off, even when sleeping, so I guess it doesn't bother him too much. Though, he can't scratch himself through it. The fabric is so thick and well distributed that if I need to give him a little tug, hold him back, or direct him on the leash, I don't feel like I'm hurting him but with the old harness that was questionable. One of the reasons I bought this is because it is padded under his arm pits while most other harnesses are just a thin strap that digs in and chafes if they are still leash training. Since he is a scent dog, leash training is going to take a while and I need to keep him on a short, high leash so he doesn't try to clothesline himself. I feel like he is much safer and more comfortable in a harness like this. It also straps in easily to car seats and I feel like the thick padded vest will help distribute the shock should we get into a car accident and should keep his bones and joints safer than a thin harness or flat neck collar. There are two very heavy duty metal rings, 1 on the back and 1 on the chest, and I feel confident that my leash would give out before the rings do. The buckles also seem heavy duty (plastic, not metal) and they are a bit bulky, which seems uncomfortable, but again he doesn't seem to mind them.EASE OF USE:You do have to go over their face and head with this one, which he doesn't mind but some dogs might. It is also a HUGE PAIN to adjust the size of the straps, especially since it kind of needs to be adjusted with him in it and he is a squirmy hyper puppy. It took fiddling with it a couple times over 2 days before it fit him well, but it was worth it because unlike other harnesses, his wiggling and movement doesn't loosen the straps so I know he won't be able to wiggle his way out of it.The old harness had straps that could hang down after adjusting which he would chew on but with these the straps don't dangle, even though it is practically on the tightest setting.SHOULD YOU BUY IT?:I can't speak directly for large dogs who might jump, lunge, or pull but if the quality and durability is the same throughout the sizes, I think this is one of the best harnesses you could buy for under $65. I had a Boxer/Pit/German Sheppard mix before and I think this would do nicely for a dog like that as well. I also really like the handle but wish it was oriented running the length of the spine and not horizontally. If you're worried about nighttime safety, I would also really recommend this!If you are looking for something very comfortable for a lazy lapdog or a toy breed who doesn't need much leash training, then this harness is probably way overkill. I would look for something much lighter, more breathable, and easy to get on and off. But if you have a big dog, a hyper puppy, are hiking or doing other outdoor activities a lot, need help with leash training, need to pull them by the handle, etc. then this is the best affordable harness I've come by!

Nice fit, good proportions for a small dog.
I've looked for a good dog harness for my prey driven small dog. He and his dog sister are very good at getting out of almost every harness I've purchased. This one is much more secure. I like the handle on the back for quickly pulling him back if I need to. Also, the straps do not rub on the dogs "underarms" (under legs?) . There are many reflectors which is great during the dark winter months. The harness feels very sturdy, I think it will last for a good amount of time.

Not sturdy!
Our 90 pound lab/pit mix was wearing this harness when she started to run off. My husband grabbed her by the harness and when she pulled away (not full force at all!) the strap tore off. The buckle came off with it. She didn’t pull very hard and it broke. Same thing happened to our previous harness we bought from this company. We bought the most recent harness in September but are outside the return window. Never buying this brand again.

Good, but note I got the new design when ordering dark blue
These are excellent. There is a new design though, and I thought dark blue was the old design. I ordered the dark blue in the size that my dog wears for the old design. I received the new design. Luckily the size was still right for my dog. Now the mesh pocket in the front closes at the bottom, there is a led loop, there is more padding under the front legs, and the handle is a little higher and thinner. The loop in the front now matches the loop on the back.

Great purchase
Easy to put on dog. Seems comfortable for him. Like the strap to hold to help him up and down stairs. Looks like it is well made and will last for a very long time. Good price.

Bought a second one.
I bought one for my English Bulldog and it's very comfortable for him, when I saw how nice it is, I bought one for my high action black lab! He loves to jump in all water he finds and it dries quickly. Great product. Newburyport, MA

ACHTUNG: Für große, schwere Hunde absolut ungeeignet, nach 3 Tagen gerissen! Achtung NACHTRAG!

Perfect for strong dogs
I have a large, strong dog of mixed Guard breeds, this harness fits her well as she has a deep chest for her size. The hoop in the front is a life saver! If she's excitable and pulling a lot clipping the lead to the chest hoop redistributes all her strength and she's so easy to control. The hoop on the back is great for strapping her into the car and it must be comfortable as she'll happily lay down in the harness and go to sleep.Easily adjustable, clips lock in place if you need to, both hoops are sturdy and we've had no incidents of wiggling free and no breakages, the reflective strips are brilliant on winter walks. This is the THIRD time we've bought this harness due to some naughty chewing incidents so can confirm that the red, orange and purple colours are all fab - I would definitely recommend buying it (and storing it out of reach!)

My dog no longer walks me!
I had my doubts over the “no pull” claims of this harness. I’ve tried a couple of different no pull harnesses on our excitable and very energetic sprollie over the last 18 months but after reading the other reviews I thought we would try one last time. Oh my word, worth every penny. He’s gone from walking me, yanking my arm off along the way to my 7 year old being able to safely hold his lead in a week. I’m no longer jealous of those well behaved dogs walking so nicely alongside their people.

Don't be fooled by the chest measurements - neck size might be too large on barrelled chested dogs
The media could not be loaded. I like this harness however the neck part doesn't do up tight enough for my dachshund so cannot use the front clip feature as she can pull her leg out despite it being at its max tightness. It's a shame as it's a fantastic harness and sturdy and I love the lock features. It's a bit of a pain having to adjust the neck straps to get it over her head each time, especially with a dog who hates things going over her head. However, I've had this harness just 2 weeks and it instantly stopped her constant pulling and now walks slack leaded!

ThinkPet No Pull Hundegeschirr
Bin begeistert.Lg
