Complete Waste of Money
This book was a complete waste of money. It advertises itself as "50 Socks, Hats, Mittens" but changing a colorway or yarn weight/type does not make a separate item. There is also nothing much that could be described as particularly Nordic. Quick Nordic Knits: 50 Socks, Hats and Mittens

Attractive Knitted Gifts (Matching Hats, Mittens, Socks, Ankle Warmers) for Adult Women
Knitting books that have "Easy", "Simple", or "Quick" in the title are often disappointing, but this book is a delightful exception. It has clear instructions for 15 hats (including caps, bonnets, and berets), 11 mittens (some can be knitted as gloves), 7 socks (including a spiral sock), wrist warmers, and ankle warmers. The patterns are all written for only one size (adult woman: average hat size 22", hand width 3.75", leg width 4.25").Most of the hat designs are accompanied by designs for either matching mittens or socks, and a few (Baggy, Stars, Spruce, and Flaps) have designs for both matching mittens and socks. The patterns for heel-less spiral socks, a hat with earflaps, and ankle warmers are nice bonuses.I was particularly intrigued by the ankle warmers ("What do you do when your feet are cold and your shoes are too tight for wool socks?"), which I hadn't seen before. An ankle warmer is a heel-less, foot-less sock cuff, with an attached strap that goes around the arch of the foot to hold the "sock top" in place. Ankle warmers appear to be fairly simple to knit, and the author rates them as an "easy" project. The ankle warmer pattern would be easy to adjust to fit any size of person. The book has an interior spiral binding, which is popular with many knitters because the pages lie flat. Check the "Look Inside" feature on the product description page for complete instructions for knitting the Baggy, Scraps, Spruce, and Cables hats, and for a photo of the earflap hat (on the Table of Contents page). This book is a great gift-knitting book, as long as you only need patterns for adult women. It would rate 5 rather than 4 stars if the author had included instructions for resizing the patterns to fit a wider range of persons.

Quick but attractive
A perfect book for someone (like me) pretty new to stranded knitting. The patterns are easy, but still attractive. I've been looking for a simple cabled mitten pattern and the one in here matches the one I've had in my head, but have previously been unable to find. The colorwork charts are easy to read and the directions straightforward. A great book for newish knitters, or anyone looking to make a quick gift.

Quick Nordic Knits
OK- maybe I'm alittle slow but I don't understand what yarns were used, nor the weight or gauge. I like it when a book will tell you what they used in each pattern, or at least a weight to use. I love the patterns though.

Eccellente libro
Eccellente prodotto. Avrei dovuto comprarlo in Svezia molti anni fa, lo compro adesso, un libro unico e indispensabile per chi ama il genere. Da avere.

Fabulous Patterns
I bought this book because of Ann-Mari Nilsson's great reputation as a knitwear designer, and am I ever glad I did. It was originally published in Swedish as "Sticka mossor, vantar, sockor!" I have just completed my first pattern from the book, "Baggy" hat. It turned out exceptionally well and is the perfect pattern for the slouchy hats teenagers here in Ottawa are wearing. Clear instructions, charts where appropriate, a large photo for each item, and a wide variety of hats, mittens, and socks makes this a solid project book. There is a particularly nice pattern for an adult version of the swedish baby bonnet "but without the little point at the forehead...perfect for wearing under a hood or a liner for a hard hat." Take a peek at "Quick Nordic Knits" in the "patterns" section at ravelry for some great photos of finished projects from this book. If you only buy one hat/mitten pattern book this year, make it "Quick Nordic Knits". What are you planning for us next, Ann-Mari?

Nice little easy knits for xmas
A lovely simple book with good illustration and instructions, although in American you can work out abbreviations in front of book. Quite a few good Nordic patterns.
